I'm still extremely happy with this mount and I would definitely buy it again. Just for reference, there's enough room to change out the stereo with the mount where it is. I didn't have to take it off and put it back on to install the Pioneer deck.

Dude, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for posting this. I've been trying to find the best mount out there, to mount my iphone EXACTLY where you have yours! I also have a jetta (2005 MKIV)....you got this one right? "Volkswagen Jetta 1999-2005 - ProClip Angled Mount"

How is it to install? Does the back bracket screw or clip to the dash? Also, i have a fairly large/rugged silicone case on my phone, can the mount accomodate this?

(i have the same problem with my left turns, lol, sick of trying to get phone from the other side of the car at a stop light..LOL)

No prob, glad it helps :)

Yeah, my Jetta is a 2001 so it would be the same angled mount. The installation was very easy. To use ProClip's lingo, the vehicle mount is a combination adhesive (very strong) with a protruding plastic clip that you push into your dash. ProClip includes a wedging tool to get the clearance you need to get it in there. Check this for more info: http://www.proclipusa.com/media/documents/pdf/852808.pdf

So, there's no screws there. It's just the adhesive strip and the internal clip. There are screws to hold the device holder to the vehicle mount though. About 5 of them.

As for the device holder, you have a few choices. the one i have (Apple iPhone 3rd Gen. (3GS) - Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel) will not accommodate any kind of case. But they make an adjustable one that should work with a case on.

Will be getting my ProClip here soon. Will take pics of it with my iPhone mounted using the otterbox case.
