ProMotion displays in iPhone 7s / 8?

I haven't found any relevant forum threads concerning this issue, so I thought I'd give this thread a try:

I was asking myself if Apple is going to implement their newest ProMotion display technology in its newest line of iPhones?
Are there any specific leaks which support this thought? If so, will they implement it only in the OLED model?

Any personal thoughts on it?
 
Not sure they will, but if they did I can definitely see it being iPhone 8/Pro/Edition exclusive, and I think it should be that way if the rumoured big prices for it are true
 
Possible, but who really knows. That doesn’t seem to be leaking from the usual suspects.

If not this year, where Apple already has their hands full with redesigns, wireless charging, OLED, and new sensors, then certainly next year.

I don't understand though. MacRumors posted a rumor yesterday about iPhone 7s with "trusted sources".

Are you sure? Because they are causing even more confusion. There are threads about 7s, rumors about 7s and now I'm hearing 7s doesn't exist but it's the 8. We'll have to wait 'til Tuesday to find out...

Yes, there will be no 7s. I would expect 8, 8 Plus, and the OLED version (Edition/Pro/Whatever).

Hmmm sorry but I'm not going to just take your word (or in the end 9to5mac's words) for it. Until there's more solid evidence, everything is just rumors. It's either 7s or 8. And we'll find out officially on Tuesday.
 
I still think there is no 7 or 8 at all.
It will be iPhone and iPhone Pro.
The phrase "Edition" has been burned by the Watch.
 
I really hope it will make it on the iPhone, at least on the OLED model.
Not sure about the LCD models, I'd expect some enhancement compared to the 7 and 7+ but I'm afraid they won't bother upgrading the display.

Infinity display is stupid marketing right now. They'll reduce the bezels further in the coming years and it remains Infinity? I think they need to look up Infinity. Infinity pool makes sense more for the galaxy phones because they in a sense resemble an infinity pool if you were to lay it flat and look at it from one edge so the other edge seems to not end, like an infinity pool.

Infinity pool being Apple's code name for the display makes me believe my thinking that the top corners will be black is accurate. It only appears to be an infinite display if there is no distinction between the display and bezel.

No chance of 'Pro' in an iPhone. Thankfully Benjamin understands that too

iPhone Pro is not much of a possibility at all for the iPhone. The term "Edition" represents exclusivity to a specific material that was used on the Apple Watch, everything else is the exact same as the other Apple Watch models.
