So what you're saying is that an order placed today vs one placed a few days ago for pickup, show different dates? That doesn't come as any sense of a surprise.

You're just making up information to satisfy your lack of information about the release. Until Apple comes out with anything, everything else is pure speculation and reaching.

all this crap about the refresh is so lame.

If it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't.

its a computer, just use...

simon..

I am guessing this "15" MacBook Pro" re-design machine, or whatever it is, is going to be released *very* soon, possibly next week. The only reason it was not done this week was due to Apple reporting Quarterly earnings, which was to take the media spotlight of the week. Apple wouldn't want to launch a product the same week it reported record-breaking earnings. Hopefully, it will be launched Tuesday of next week.

We will also know very soon about Apple's plans for the 17" models, and whether they are getting the axe.

Why not?

"Today Apple reported record breaking earnings and along with that good news unveiled a brand new line of Macbook Pro laptops that figure to keep Apple ahead of the competition."

What am I missing?

Again, why are only the 15" models experiencing shipping delays? Apple has repeatedly said that their 13" model is their most popular. Why does that model have no shipping delay whatsoever? Explain that.

Are you a troll or just an idiot who doesn't understand how supply and demand works? maybe both.

It works like this. if you can estimate the demand for a product, then you can get a pretty good idea of what supply you need.

Why is it easier to keep 13" MBPs in stock? *because* they're more popular. There is less uncertainty in their demand, therefore it's easier to keep a steady supply.

For 13", the fluctuations in demand are relatively smaller than for 15"

While nobody knows when the new MBPs are coming out, I hope they do come out sooner rather than later.

However, having said this, what are everybody's thoughts on Apple doing a MAJOR redesign (liquid metal, anyone?) and announcing their new redesigned MBPs during WWDC with a release date that correlates with the release date of Mountain Lion?

It seems that WWDC is the perfect time to release new MBPs- from what I've been reading. Disregard my thread- my excitement took over my rationality. The wait is just killing me. :(

Then stop waiting and buy it?

That is what I did. Couldn't be happier. I lol' every day now at everyone still waiting.

I'll "lol" at you in a few weeks or month when I have my shiny new computer that is so much faster and fancier than your old, obsolete one. I'm laughing already.

Well said. :p

except that I think he was being sarcastic :)

Seems straight forward to me.

13" Pro is their best selling laptop, so they stock heaps of them.
17" Pro has almost NO demand so they only stock a few but that is enough for anyone who wants one.

15"ers fall somewhere in-between so it is hard to estimate how much demand there will be, thus there are times where they have some in stock, a store might have a particular week where they see a spike in 15" sales and they don't have the stock to handle the sudden spike.

While it would seem a refresh of their products is imminent, it would not surprise me at all if we saw no hardware updates to any of Apples product lines until closer to WWDC. (Except perhaps a new Mac Pro?..........)

Because it is so popular, apple are happy/confident enough to carry more of them in stock because they know they will sell them?
