Come on. Apple can't produce enough. Apple knew months ago whenthey would be releasing the iPad 2. Your telling me since January they couldn't make enough

I bet they have a couple of 10's of thousands made everyday. They are just doing this to make maximum use of the media

James

Nonsense.
They want to sell as many as they can as fast as they can make them. Nothing is to be gained by playing games to hype the media. The hype is already there. They don't need to play that silly game, they are interested in making money by selling iPads. They are not interested in not making money by not selling iPads.
Other companies may play that game. Apple is nothing like other companies.

You also need to remember that even if they have none available for sale they may have some back there that are accounted for. I got mine thru a Corp discount. When I went in to pick mine up they had me go to a back room thing to get it. Bagged it and everything back there so the people waiting would not freak out if they saw me walk out with one.

I wonder if that qualifies as lying to your customers...

Yes, but only to honest ethical people.

You've got to remember no matter what's is said, Apple doesn't follow any rational guidelines.

Apple does what Apple wants and their Fanboys take it with a smile. Apple has but one objective which is to show everyone that Apple rules all.

Just because Apple treats their customers like scum is of no consequence to them.

They're Almighty Apple don't you know :)

Employees cannot hold stock for people. The only people at Apple that can keep part of a shipment is the Business sales department. Business clients are high volume sales and usually do business over the phone or internet.

lol its funny how people say apple fanboys just accept whatever apple gives them. unlike the population of Mac Rumors other people have no problem getting apple products.

When iPhone 4 launch pre orders came out i hopped on my ipad through the apple store app and reserved one in store and picked it up no problem launch day. When iPad 2 came out I got off work drove to walmart and picked up a black 16g wifi no problem and it was the exact model I wanted

When people stand in line, that is their own choice. If you don't like it, vote with your wallets and don't buy one plain and simple. People act like the iPhones or iPads are essential to life and apple making it hard for them to buy one is detrimental to their health somehow. I for one, find it hilarious.
