furthermore, it is extremely irritating when an OP is called a liar and everyone chooses to agree out of hand.

I'm sure all snverhallen needs to do is post a pic of his morning newspaper and/or his computer with the Versatel info. But it's difficult to prove he didn't pull the pic off of the Internet, sure

how did you match his screengrab with your database? By the connection speeds? In 750,000+ tests those were the only two speeds that matched what he posted?

pwnd. lol.

ok, while we got ya here Mr. Lewis, any comment on why TMI's results are generally so much faster than idlsr or inetworktest?

Sorry didn't see the second part to your post before.

The results are so much faster then the other speed test sites for a few reasons.

First, we use a server hosted at Softlayer, and iWeb both of there networks are extremely fast some of the fastest in the world. Softlayer alone has 60 gbps to there dallas DC from 5 providers with very low usage. That makes sure our network doesn't give you slow results.

Our speed test it self is the main reason why you see much higher results. With out getting to deep into how the test works, the main reason is the larger file size that is used, and the smart part of the test where if the test happens too fast it runs a larger file for you. The goal is to get 6 - 8 seconds of continues testing, that allows for an accurate result.

There is another thing with the actually test file itself that makes the speed test more accurate, and that makes it so the test file can not be cached

One other reason is its not a mobile test, its a full desktop class test. Its very similar to the way testmy.net works, the other person that helped with the speed test part of the site is the developer of testmy.net and he knows how to make a speed test work really well.

I matched his because there are only 2 scores that have ever been taken that have that kbps score.

but only one was taken with a 5888 kb test file, and was completed in 2.7 seconds.

And in his original image there it says it was taken on a iPhone, Its not recorded as being taken on a iPhone.

Now I added the test key to the results page so from now on if there is any confusion anyone can look it up when a screen shot it posted. So we can avoid this in the future.

As OP, I say we just forget about this, there's only harsh words being passed around now. I have no hard feeling to anyone here, I hope their are no hard feelings in my direction.
