iPad mini Proper name for Retina Mini

I used to love how "short and to the point" Apple naming was.
- White iBook
- Black iPhone 3G
- White iPad 2
- MacBook Air (Late 2010)
- iPhone 4S (Big "S")

But then the new New iPad 3 came out and everything quickly fell apart and the public ended up renaming things for clarity which just made it more confusing

The new iPad = iPad 3
MacBook Pro with Retina = rMBP, MBPwR
Lightning Cable = Lightning name but USB2 speed
iPad 4 = They refused to admit the prev gen was "3" but named the new one "4"?!?
Blue iPhone 5c = Last years iPhone 5 in a permanent plastic case
White and Gold iPhone 5s = Gold 5s (thats a small "s")
Space Gray iPad Air = Black Air
Silver iPad Mini with Retina = White iPad Mini 2, Mini2, rMini

I'm hoping that some day they figure a way to streamline their offerings so we can go back to that time where their product catalog was trimmed in order to reduce confusion.

This is the best post here -- bar none. I'm waiting for my yellow mini to ship so I can trash it, and Apple, on these forums using my yellow mini. It's so meta and recursive all at the same time. Clearly the mini is the Flagship device. Oh wait, wrong thread. Damn yellow mini!

Either you've been away for a couple years, or simply haven't been all over the forum. But the rMBP has been the standard abbreviation for quite some time now, and so rMini was quickly coined as well, by MacRumor forum veterans 😀
