Kowtow is what virtually *all* countries doing business with China, Iran, NK, & Russia are doing; not exactly paragons of human rights, though they all pretend to be so in their own countries of where their 'interests' are. Trump is sucking up to Xi & also Kim, but maybe he has some logic to his apparent 'maddess' ...we'll see, we'll see. Same for the economies, down the road what matter is results. Of course we know, like Obama each side will skew the 'facts' in favor of their own positions, so much like attorney's do for their clients. Look at the spin from Strock's attorney, easy to make claims when you can't back it up with 'facts'

Apple do champion human rights and everything...... until it impacts profits. Look at China for instance vs rest of world regarding privacy issues.

With what employees?

if i have time, will get the links/quotes...you all know that Andy Rubin, Google's Android, now AI guy, had been helping Apple in China bigtime, correct? Foxconn's CEO met with him, Foxconn Taiwan is just like Apple, he works 100hr wks, is a businessman 1st and formost. Foxconn will replace all these low-paying assembly jobs with robots, no more suicides, no more employment for Chinese workers, higher profit margins. hmm, think Foxconn can do robotics fast in other Asian or 3rd world countries, if China were to go extreme and boot Apple (great for Chinese smartphone companies) & Foxconn from mainland? That may happen even after Trump leaves office and the libs will still blame Republicans & Trump. Same ol, same ol with the Deep State politicians. Wonderful Google employee's protested the gov contract, M$ & $150bil CEO Amazon have no trouble with DOD contracts, with Pentagon because the AI could be used to develop lethal weapons.

Typical ignorant & uninformed UScitizens on this thread and same for those who vote who have very short attention/memory spans, sadly.

Those who don't pay attention to Trump lengthy speeches conveniently leave out that his major premise is that bad trade deals going back to Carter, both Repu &Dems admins are guilty, have given the USA a bad position, even if China were doing everything above board "free trade, no tariffs", which we full well is not the case, same with NATO, EU, Unitied Nations, etc, etc Trumps says USA is paying too much, and getting treated unfairly...so he's hitting back/threatening to impose on those countries what they have been doing for decades, taking advantage of dumbarse former political admins.

Oh the deep state was here long before Trump, and likely still there long after Trump. What about Hunter Biden & McConnells Chines wife and their profiting millions from China business deals...uh huh.

Yeah Obama, it was the Bush/Repubs that caused the trouble he had to dig the country out of, the worst recession since...because those damned capitalists...gay Barney Frank, right?

Oh. OK... This must be a subject in which you have experience. How long would it take to put that level of infrastructure in place? Where would the labor come from and how long would it take for training? And what would the cost be? And again, how long would it take?

Please show your work.

"Prices are already based on if they were built without slave labor, they can afford to lower their ridiculous margins"

Ridiculous margins? This must be another subject you are expert in. What are Apple's GPMs, and how do they compare with industry norms and GPMs of similar companies?

What did it cost China to put it in place? Why can they do it in a once piss poor country and it's suddenly so difficult for a rich company like Apple to do? I call ********. It can be done, they don't want to do it. As long as they have excuse making fanboys in this country who make excuses where none are deserved, Apple will remain a soulless rip-off.

If you don't already know that Apple's margins are the highest in the business I can't help you. They use the same slave labor and cheap materials as all other companies yet their prices are much higher. That should give you a clue.

Those are questions I posed you, being an expert on the subject. The Chinese government invested heavily long ago to make that happen.

"If you don't already know that Apple's margins are the highest in the business I can't help you."

What are the GPMs of similar companies in the business. Please provide some detail as I asked in my previous post, rather than deflect. You might want to start with Samsung.

Automation will replace jobs but as usual, NEW jobs will be created from the automation. Thats how tech works. Or, maybe the dems will stop with this mandatory minimum wage crap which just facilitates more automation.

Yes, new jobs will be created. I doubt there will be enough new jobs to replace those lost. Thats the whole point of automation. Less human jobs.

Mandatory minimum wage != more automation. Its going to happen anyway.

Bit of history on me.

My first job was at McDonald's, back when I was 15 years old. I worked there for 4 years, between 1989 and 1993. Yes, it was during the McDLT days, for those that can remember. Back then, the new thing was to have two drive-thru windows to speed up service. But also, our front line registers had 6 registers to increase speediness.During our lunch rushes, we had a dedicated person on the Fry station, in which their main responsibility was to get the fries into their baskets before being fried, frying them, and getting them in their containers when made.

Fast forward to today, where we have automation, where those 6 registers to help with not only the human interaction, but gave people the jobs behind those registers, are down to 1, possibly 2. What have those registers been replaced with?

Screens.

Walking into a modern McD's, they now have touch screens where you can order your food without even talking to someone, pay for it without talking to someone, and the only human interaction you get is from someone presenting your tray to you.

that fry guy? that entire process is now automated. Fries are poured into a dispenser, dispenser puts them into the baskets, baskets are moved along to their vats, and automatically dropped in. Timer goes off, they are automatically picked up and dumped, where they are automatically packaged.

That's 13 jobs mainly gone right there, and that's with a opening and midshift.

You're right that it may create some new jobs, but those jobs are more temporary, because they are one-and-done jobs: Get someone in to set up those touch screens, and they're done. They get program updates via McD's internal network, and that's that. Break a screen? Replace and install. Another one-and-done job. Yet those other 13 jobs are forever gone. You lose in the long run because guess who pockets the money? that's right, the company! Do you honestly think that those companies are going to pay people to work for them if they can save that money for themselves with automation?

Oh, that Maccas story? It also just got highlighted on NPR this morning:

https://www.npr.org/2018/09/12/646968887/automation-comes-to-mcdonalds

But yeah.. blame the Blues for trying to not have corporations pocket that money and try to hire more people.

Lol - because what everyone needs that has a different opinion is a lesson from liberal in cheif John Oliver! Get over yourself.

How you like the prices of the new iphones??? Nothing like some tariffs to price middle America out of the iPhone market! #winning
Personally, I wish the price were doubled.....really draw that line between those who get back more than $15K on their tax returns because of Trumps tax cuts and those who got back $300.
lol

iPhone XR = 749
Pretty good deal considering I paid $1000.00 for the X and the XR has better internals.

iPhone XS= 1000
Same price as the X.

Failing to see your point.

The prices already include the tariffs? Why has the price also increased in Europe then?

The prices don't include the tariff's, yet, because they have not been imposed. They will be imposed on us when Trump puts them in effect.

You just sound really hateful in general so there isn’t much to pick apart there that you posted. It’s a lot of emotions you wear on your sleeve and feel the more conviction you have in your emotions, the more they are a legitimate argument for debate... and not Much in the way of facts or rationality.

You’re supposed to be the virtue signaling tolerant party and you can’t even fake pretending to be for a moment. That’s embarrassing and shameful.

Peace be with you! I won’t be responding to anymore of your posts, you appear to be troubled and I don’t Generally entertain hysteria. Especially when there’s no self awareness that that’s what it is. Might as well talk to a wall.
Oh I definitely tolerate others with differing views. I have family members, friends, and coworkers who are conservatives, republicans, and Trump supporters. I get along with them just fine. They were willing to listen to the facts of why I think he's a lousy choice. I was willing to hear what they had to say.

Agreed on not talking with each other about this here. We're just 2 walls talking right off each other. :D

Guess that’s what happens when Apple starts banning supporters of the current administration from their platform ... seems like it was all good until then ...

Trump has done absolutely nothing to defend Alex Jones and it's a short matter of time until he begins to really feel the effects of that. The corporate media talk about Trump's unshakable base and that number includes Alex Jones supporters.

Google is the worst offender throwing Jones off YouTube. Google needs to be hammered into tiny pieces, simply destroyed. Eric Schmidt was walking around Hillary's headquarters on election night wearing a "staff" badge.

Trump has been in for two years and has not sent anyone to Guantanamo Bay.

It's not like Apple lacks for resources. If Apple won't get on the Trump train than nationalize Apple.

I'm going to ask you the same question that I've asked every conservative Trump supporter, in which none of them have attempted to answer, whether from lack of knowledge, showing their hypocrisy, or otherwise: what the hell ever happened to the conservative principle of FREE MARKET ENTERPRISE? You guys were so happy and shouting from the rooftops when Citizens United gave them the ability to act as people, in regards to their 1A right, as well as limiting the government from interfering in most corporate business practices. Now you want the government to get involved in those same corporations that goes against your political spectrum's principles?

What happened to that, or do your principles completely get thrown out the door when you don't agree with what the business does with their own business?

Again, this appears to be a principle that seems to have been lost between 1/20/2016 and now. Could you please attempt to find it? Because I don't think any Trump supporter can.

Communists, hypocrites and apologists all have something in common. I think Trump has always been jealous of other dictators and communist leaders. Trump is probably already working on finding a way to abolish elections and make his term permanent

And here we go....

https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/business-45527935

US President Donald Trump has instructed staff to move forward with the next round of tariffs on Chinese goods, US media have reported.

The tariffs are expected to apply to about $200bn worth of imports from China, including electronic parts and consumer goods such as handbags.

It remains unclear when the new import taxes - which could be as high as 25% - will go into effect.

Officials are reportedly still working on the final list of products.

President Trump ordered his staff to start preparing the tariffs this summer, escalating a dispute over what the US says are China's unfair trade practices, such as state subsidies.

The new duties would add to tariffs the US has already imposed on $50bn in Chinese goods as part of that dispute, as well as tariffs that China levied on $50bn in US goods in retaliation.

Friday's news reports that Mr Trump has ordered the US to proceed with further tariffs quoted administration sources. There has so far been no formal announcement.

However, Mr Trump has repeatedly signalled his willingness to impose the new duties, despite warnings from economists and widespread opposition in the US among the business community.

This is exactly what I want Trump to do.

The Republic got us into this mess. The Republic as it was meant to function was annihilated under the second Roosevelt. The National Security Act of 1947 formally terminated the constitution. Institutions such as the Pentagon, FBI and CIA have no place under the Constitution.

Benjamin Franklin warned us, we did not fight for his warning and lost the Republic. The Constitution was originally designed to be updated every 20 years or so. There has never been another convention since 1787.

So you want a dictatorship where no-one has any say in any form of this government. Got it.

I'm pretty sure a one-way trip to Pyongyang can be arranged, as they have exactly everything you could ever hope for in a system of government.

On anything that matters to the American people they do not "have a say" as things stand now.

What you are actually defending is the privilege of Tim Cook, Eric Schmidt, Warren Buffet etc to have an outsized "say" in our affairs to the point in which they collude among themselves to fight and defeat the current President of the United States who was elected properly.

According to Tim Cook and Eric Schmidt we have the right to elect anyone as long as that individual answers to Tim Cook and Eric Schmidt and not the deplorable American masses.

We specifically elected Trump to directly oppose and defeat the globalist policies of Tim Cook and Eric Schmidt and replace them with Nationalist America First policies.

I have never said that. Besides; your lot can and should place that blame where it properly belongs; Tell me: How happy were you that Citizens United was handed down the way it was? I mean, after all,

Mitt Romney said:
Corporations are people too, my friend.

When your side decided to back that, your lot became the cause, not the solution. What you are alluding to with Cook, Schmidt, Buffet, and others, is the product of your own doing. Congratulations.

According to Tim Cook and Eric Schmidt we have the right to elect anyone as long as that individual answers to Tim Cook and Eric Schmidt and not the deplorable American masses.

Wrong; according to your opinion, this is what you perceive their actions to be; that is completely incorrect.

We specifically elected Trump to directly oppose and defeat the globalist policies of Tim Cook and Eric Schmidt and replace them with Nationalist American First policies.

That flight on Air Koryo is still waiting for you.
