The Pros are more than just making it more 'fun' You also gain the ability to add functionality that Apple decided to leave out... functionality that SHOULD be there to begin with like: Being able to selectively block any phone number of your choice (like pesky telemarketers, or exes) this has actually been available in many other phones for ages now! Also, Apple chose to limit your use of your own data plan, that you paid for by capping downloads over 3G at 20 Mb! You can download an app off Cydia that will allow you to bypass this restriction and use your data plan how you see fit - downloads and even FaceTime can then be used over 3G!

The above two mentioned reasons, plus Lock Info (being able to display what I want on the lock screen, including weather info and calendar appts, are my main reasons for jail breaking. Apple's notification system stinks... and it's a blatant copy of Lock Info (a jail break app) functionality.... although Apple did it half-assed!

They seem to do that, "half-assed", versions of what's been available in Cydia for years lol. Look at the notification center, completely half assed it, I mean they couldn't figure out how to integrate toggles in? SBS meanwhile integrates perfectly with the center along with other stuff like tasker to multi task from the center instead of hitting the home button twice (less use is good, since the home button will fail and need replacement since it's the same design flaw as in the 4 lol). Actually knowing Apple, watch them put toggles in at some point but only do 3G and WiFi and nothing else lol.

Lock Info is so much better too then stock notifications setup. I think that's where a lot of people just don't know better, as you see plenty of threads on here adn elsewhere where they think jailbreaking is just for themes and eye candy, not knowing all the app's that actually make the phone so much more useable and efficient.... Apples all about simple... oh, wait ;) lol

There are more pros than cons. One con is of course the iOS updates. I actually updated when I was jailbroken and I lost the jailbreak. That was coming from my first JB. I miss SBSettings. :(

If you know what you download, you will be fine. I had no issues with the jailbreak. Hell, I'll probably do it again once the 5.1 JB is released.

And you cannot "brick" your iPhone either..
