See here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter what you think about Jon’s personality. That has absolutely no relation to how reliable his information is. And while he’s been incorrect about future product features, and distant plans, when he says a solid release date, at least the last several times that he’s done so, he’s always right.
He said that Apple would be releasing some new products the week of March 15. Three days later on Wednesday, March 18, we got the new iPad pros, MacBook airs, and Mac minis.
On Tuesday, March 31, he said the iPhone SE would launch on April 15. Every other website and leaker said he was wrong, but April 15 arrived along with the iPhone SE.
He said a 13 inch MacBook Pro would arrive in May, and wouldn’t you know, it arrived on May 4.
He said the new iMac would not arrive in July as other people were saying, but would come out in August. August 4 came with a new iMac.
So when he says that new watches and iPads are coming on September 8, with an Apple event scheduled for the week of October 12, I tend to believe him. Now if he were to go on and say that they’re going to announce Apple glass, airpower, and all that kind of stuff, then he starts to enter murky territory.
But this release schedule makes complete sense with the restrictions that are currently going on. Almost every series 5 model is completely out of stock, and if it’s true that Apple doesn’t plan to have an event until October, I highly doubt they’re gonna leave the Apple Watch with no supply for an entire month. What would their stockholders say? How would they report Septembers data at their quarterly earnings call, if the watch sold zero units because there were none available?
Of course Apple is not gonna do something stupid like that.
So tomorrow, we’re going to get new iPads and Apple watches.
Then in October, we’ll get new iPhones, AirPods, airtags, and ARM MacBooks, along with whatever other surprises they have up their sleeve.
Also, I have mad props for Mark pre-2019, but over the last year or so, his reporting has become very shaky.
A poster in the previous article’s comments said that on his YouTube channel, Prosser said he was just playing a character, and that he’s not really an arrogant ass irl.

Not sure why some are so invested in him though. People are spending a lot of time and effort to defend him. Kind of strange, or at least puzzling (to me).

Sources come and go, as do leakers. If he keeps a decent record, I’m sure he’ll pull in more and more eyeballs to his YouTube (and wherever else he’s monetizing). If he starts being wrong, he’ll lose them. He’s got some wins for sure, which is why MacRumors is covering him.

I've noticed that the Apple store is still online, that doesn't mean there won't be anything announced tho. I'm not sure if they usually take the store down for a press release.

I highly doubt a new watch is released today unless the Gold Master of iOS14 is also released. How are they going to announce a new watch when no timeline has been given for the release of iOS 14? Unless they just announce it and say it will be available this fall but then why even bother with the press release?

It could easily go for pre-order and release in a couple weeks. Why else is it impossible to purchase most new watches on the store?

or...hear me out. i still want to read apple rumors without jon prosser taking up the headlines every week. you understand now?
I understand what you're saying. I guess if you see his name in the thread title, ignore that thread. Yet, here you are in the middle of a thread with his name in the title (actually the very first word) and posting in it. It's almost like Apple haters signing up on MacRumors and then bashing Apple all the time. Why even sign up?

it also has to do with this strange idea that people have that to be an actual weeker you have to be part of a blog. Or some kind of news site. Even to this day, Youtubers and the like are still not taken anywhere near as seriously as traditional journalists, even though they should be.
It’s a little hard to take them seriously when the thumbnails always have the tech tuber making some ridiculous expression with their face and doing something weird with their hands. To me, that screams click bait, and I don’t click 🤷‍♂️

There are some decent channels, but it can sometimes be hard to find the needle in the haystack.

Seems most models are still available to ship in Australia, ranging from in stock to 3-4 weeks depending on model. Most common is 2-3 days. A few models are out of stock: all sizes of space black and regular SS, most aluminium GPS models, titanium, 40mm black titanium.

Apple Watch and iPad will be announced today. Pre-order for Watch will be this Thursday. Mark my words.

100% I believe most of the dislike for Prosser is based on his personality, and not the information. I believe we'll see new Watches and Ipads today as well.

Are you just posting different things so you can go back and remove the incorrect ones? A post right after this you say that Apple Watch will have it’s own event.

Why would I remove the incorrect ones? Like I said iPad and Apple Watch are today - it was a mis-typo from my side. iPhone will be in October. Thank me later.

So you had a typo responding to a guy who said Gurman would be wrong because he claimed there would be a watch event and you responded that there will be a watch event and it was a typo? Gotcha

The typo was there's an Apple Watch and iPad* event not just an Apple Watch event. How about this for insights - the new Apple Watch will have it's own SIM card. Thank me later Mr Cocky.

What? He Tweeted "iPhone OS" during the keynote. Completely false.

He then stole an alleged picture of airpower when it was just a knockoff product and he even slapped his name to watermark it. The original source even tweeted at him basically shaming him for stealing his content (now deleted tweet).

And there was never an iPhone SE Plus (or as he calls it, iPhone 9 Plus)

And the "Steve Jobs Heritage Edition" AR glasses is extremely stupid. Apple would never do something like that. Mark (who has a far better track record) shut it down completely

and on and on and on...

Make enough guesses, you're bound to be right, obviously. This is what he's doing.
Thank you sir, for doing the lord’s job.

Yep I was just thinking about the online store too... and I also just can't remember if the store is taken down for press releases 😂 😂 (based on my memory, I think it was down in March 2017 for the press release of Product Red iPhone 7 and iPad, but not for iPhone SE 2 and MacBook Pros)

For the iPhone SE, they just “suddenly” updated the site. We could be 20 minutes away from reveal, or not xD
