I'm still trying to figure out the use for this. You have to activate it by pushing something or swiping something, and then swiping through the list of open apps, and then click on it. Isn't that the same exact steps you would go through to actually open a normal app? Just sayin...

It may seem that way, but let's say you have an app open. You can double tap the status bar to background that app (which also opens the PS interface), then swipe to another backgrounded app, and go into that one. So essentially, you can switch between "X" number of backgrounded apps without ever returning to the springboard. It's much like Kirakae in a sense, but IMO has an incredible interface, much like the Palm Pre "card system".

edit:
Here's a decent article describing ProSwitcher
http://www.macstories.net/iphone/proswitcher-beta-multifl0w-update/

what a great app! definitely very useful.... best backgrounding/switching for me so far! i had 16 apps open at once!

I am still partial to Kirikae. I've got both installed, and I find I keep going back to Kirikae.

Kirikae is the quickest. The one thing I do like ProSwitcher for is when I have multiple apps backgrounded and want to "kill" them. Kirikae will bounce me back to the springboard while ProSwitcher will stay up and let me close one after another after another.

Other than that, speed is king and that = Kirikae!

That is odd. Kirikae stays open for me and lets me close one app after another.

In fact, ProSwitcher has the problem you describe, at least for Mail and Phone and for certain people. I spent a couple of hours with Ryan debugging that last night, and he managed to fix it for the next release.

So if your adding the source, you put cydia instead of repo at the end. When ever I try to add the source to cyder nothing changes. HELP!!

Kirikae is a tad faster however I like the look of Proswitcher better. I also like the fact I can use a slide gester to open it up which leaves the home and power button open for other uses. I really like Proswitcher.

I just checked again to be absolutely certain, and yes...Every app that I close from within Kirikae closes and sends me back to the springboard. The only exceptions are Safari, Phone, and Mail. I wish it worked for me like it does for you. I'd then have no need for ProSwitcher.

Does anyone know where proswitchers located, I need to delete it, whenever I install it, only an icon comes up. Nothing in the settings.

You uninstall through Cydia, or if that doesn't work for some reason you can use mobile terminal or SSH to run the command:

Code:
dpkg -r com.collab.proswitcher

Manually deleting files and folders is a very bad way to go about removing an application from your phone.

ETA: Has ProSwitcher 0.8 been removed from the booleanmagic repo? I only find libactivator in there now. I mean, I have it already, but it seems odd for it to have disappeared.

ETA2: Actually, looks like Ryan's compiled a 1.0 final release version. We should see that in Cydia soon.

I have the same issue. It's annoying, but I rarely need to close more than one app at a time.

My ideal switcher would by the cross between ProSwitcher and Overboard. I don't want to swipe so many times to get to the applicaitons, and I want to know right away what applications are active on ONE screen. If we can have up to 12 active applications on the screen, (and scroll down if more than 12 are active, just like in Overboard), that would be my dream.

I don't need so many way to activate the switcher. Docked icon is not a good ideal because you can only activate it from springboard. Swiping of taskbar is not a good idea because you can't use it on full screen applications such as Sygic and Oceanus (full screen browser). Double clicking of home key would do just fine.

chpwn and rpetrich deliver an early morning Christmas present. I was waiting for this to come out of beta. Thanks guys!

Just installed it and giving it a test drive as many of you already have (beta). So far, so good. One thing I would like to see (if possible) is the option to "turn off" in settings the "Phone" and "Mail" cards. Most users know these are always backgrounded and would rarely close them anyway. Just less to scroll through. Maybe I'm in the minority here but just a thought.

I really like the app and ease of use and the cost vs. quality of programming is a big plus too! ;)

If you use backgrounder, you can set it to not show default apps; mail and phone. I don't like them showing either.

I am using Backgrounder, which setting allows you to have Phone and Mail cards not show with ProSwitcher and Kirikae?

Thanks...

It's actually an option in proswitcher sorry, I just checked. It's in settings> show default apps. Although reading another site, it looks like this preference isn't in the new 1.0 version (whether intentional or not) so don't upgrade if that's important to you.

Interesting. I set show default apps to off in the beta, and now they are not showing in my 1.0 version after upgrading this morning! That is fine with me as it is my preference. I'm assuming the option will be back in a future release.

wow proswitcher is amazing! It's so smooth and fluid. So much customization. Can't believe it's free. MultiFl0w deleted.

I didn't have the beta installed so I never saw the option before. Thanks for the help though, hopefully it will show back up in a future update and I'll have it then.

Strange they removed it though...
