They do provide protection from scratches. I use them because I bought made a choice to buy a silver or SG Macbook Pro. And I want to see my MBP in that color.

This. It’s also important to mention that they keep the whole system thin and light. It adds zero perceptible weight and thickness.

Bestskinsever looks like the better buy. As far as I can tell from their websites, it looks like Bestskinsever provides the side edge strips, while Slickwraps is twice as expensive and does not provide the edge strips.

I’m happy with mine. I’ve installed 4 of them at this point. I’ve gotten quite good at it.
