My whole take on thing is.. You mainly buy a video game system for games..

This round the 360 has better games, and by faaaaaaaaaaaaaar the best Online service period reguardless of the mere $49.99 it cost for the year which is pennies a day.

Red ring sucks and thats for sure but the games it plays are awesome.

PS3 is def good but not my system of choice as the multi-player and even exclusive games is kinda lacking to the 360 and prior PS2

Both are good systems in there own way but for playing games online 360 hands down.

all 3 platforms ae excellent.
I like 360 for games/download content/network to home interface.
I like PS3 for the blu-ray and Hi def audio
I like the wii because it is a very social platform and excellent for parties.

They all have their strengths and to say one is better that the other is very difficult.

But developers had development kits some time before it's commercial release, but you knew that ;):p

The 360 had dev kits out much earlier than the ps3 (referring to their release dates, that is).
Compare a game 1 year into the ps3 (ratchet and clank, drakes fortune) with games 1 year into the 360's life (idk what games came out when seeing as i dont follow the 360). I can guarantee you that the ps3 games will generally be more impressive.

Sure, some cross platform games look a bit worse on the ps3, but dev's have had much longer to get used to the 360, which is much easier to grasp than the ps3 anyway.

Another thing I hear is to port a game from 360 to Games for Windows is pretty easy, And Windows has a version of live as well which is free.

The graphics are basically the same too on PS3 and X360 some run higher resolution such as GTA on the Xbox and some run higher im sure on a PS3 but all in all both systems are fun for the hardcore gamer and Wii yet graphics way below the two is a great social system.

Out of all the PS3, 360 games I played, I would still say MGS4 had one of the best looking graphics around presently but Uncharted has the most fluid animation I have seen. That being say, it's only my preference.

Personally, I dislike ports, usually game ports are of worse quality than the original platform that they are build for.

Actually again that's not entirely true. There are a myriad reasons why multi-platform games generally work better on the 360 and it is down to the GPU hardware, which at the end of the day is the one thing that's most important in delivering 'GRAPHICAL' experience to users.

The extra memory available to the GPU as well as the inbuilt Scaler chip with AA on the fly invariably lead to a better looking game.

Peeps can whine all they want about the PS3 being hard to program for and such, but the fact remains that it's GPU is less powerful and has access to less memory and the proof is in the pudding in regards to to AA issues on a hell of a lot of the PS3's games.

Whilst all this is supposedly balanced out by the PS3's better CELL processor, we have yet to really see this bore out in games generally, other than noteable examples such as MGS4. However in cross platform, again the PS3 struggles a heck of a lot more than the 360 in keeping the frame rate as stable in the majority of it's multi format titles.

You can blame developers, you can blame publishers, you can blame Sony, but you can't blame Microsoft. It doesn't change the fact that indeed most games which are multi-platform play out better on the 360, however there are indeed exceptions but we are generalising here.

No body here is saying the PS3 is rubbish in the graphical department, in fact I play my PS3's far more than my 360. However if we are to look at the sate of play as it currently stands and to be honest, from where it looks like it will always stand at this point, then it is 'graphically' inferior to the 360 in most current cross-platform titles.

Again I re-iterate for the fanboy's who can't rationally and objectively look at the situation without feeling that the size of their 'manhood' is put into question. This does not mean that the PS3 is a graphical slouch and does not negate the fact there are some beautiful ps3 games like MGS4, LBP, Uncharted & Ratchet for example.

The question is we should really be answering is does it really matter in the great scheme of things ? NO! That's why for the most part I acknowledge the slight graphical nod to the 360, but will generally buy most of my cross platform on the PS3 regardless.

There are exceptions where graphical difference has been more than enough to make me exchange the PS3 version for the 360. Most recently Fallout 3, which plays and looks far far superior on the 360 platform than its PS3 counterpart.... Is that something to get upset about or worked up about.. not really. And for most console owners it's a non event as mostly they only own one or the other of the consoles (360/PS3). The people who really have to decide whether graphics matter above other things are those with both consoles, looking for the better version - or alternatively those with no console, who should be looking at the 'exclusives' to make a decision and not the cross platform titles....

Sermon over....

I think it's safe to say cross platform games are usually design for the common denominator to save time and money. It seems that 360 is a more powerful general purpose machine, whereas PS3 requires specialized optimization. It's the same during the PS2/xbox period when even though xbox had much more superior hardware, developers already knew ps2 inside out. But this time round PS3 do not have the luxury of getting developers familiar.

You know this whole difference between XBL and PSN is really starting to fade. I have both, and I can still get a good COD4 connection on both systems, and they're practically identical. Scratch that, I can't tell the difference. I don't know what people are gabbin' about. :p

Eh, its all preference. The drama here is amazing, people need to stop being such fanboys and just play the games they like. Enjoy your game whatever system its on. ALL 3 systems have their faults, live with it.

Sorry Jimmi, I know I said I wouldn't share that photo of you.... :p;) MRU forced me to post it!!!

LOL... but out of interest ... i wonder if that is the same guy in both pictures ? surely there can't be two nuts like that.

God damn childhood, all I could ever find was regular NES and Zapper controllers  guess that's England for ya.
