PSA: AT&T increases upgrade fee again for the 2nd time in 9 months

They do it because people pay them every single time.
You don't want to pay the fees, start buying your phones outright or finance it some other way like Paypal Credit and then swap the SIM cards. Don't give AT&T the money.

Wrong. Bought two 7 Pluses at Altomonte Apple Store last October, paid cash and traded in two 5's. NO UPGRADE FEE from AT&T, and changed plans. No fee.
People comparing AT&T & tmobile are like android fan criticizes iPhone.
You either drive a BMW or Prius. You get what you paid for.

+1 i always ask them to waive actv fees and they have every single time. keeping my unlimited for now. 22gigs for what i am paying is still too good.

As a former AT&T with an iPhone customer. I am getting way more from TMO than ATT by far. Guess I'm finally driving an M3.
speeds being great where you live is awesome and obviously most preferred form of performance. nonethless, nationally, tmo is still a clear third in coverage overall. it's lead in speed is due to the the fact that where it is fast, it is blazing fast. I dont have verizon but i know from the engineering data, it still is technically the best network (nationally).
people who move around a ton probably dont favor tmo or sprint much. its like having that M3 but when youre at your clients office in rural Raleigh (example) you strap chains to the wheels add a 2 ton block of lead to the backseat and drive it like that. some people need the all around performance year long.

Those claims as the best nationwide and such is all marketing gimmicks.
Every carrier is good at some places and bad in other locations.
I dont travel throughout the US on a daily basis so in my local area and places I frequent the most Tmobile is great. That's all that matters to me.
Not if Verizon gets better signal in the middle of the Grand Canyon or in a corn field in Nebraska or South Dakota. Or once a year if Im on vacation somewhere else.

Well I travel around the USA and around the world with TMO and have had no issues. So that blows your theory.

its not a theory. saying tmobile is good is fine; it is. saying it is the best would be wrong in several categories. it does have great coverage, just not as good as att verizon right now.

of course what matters to you is most important. i cant say more because its literally my career but do you guys h onestly not think that this stuff is tested incredibly vigorously? like legit testing vans and devices side by siding every single day outside your streets so that engineers can then reoptimize coverage. there are real rankings behinds the scenes. but yea to your point whatever works best for you is best for you. no one sane would argue with that.
one fact regardless of your sample size = 1 experience = Verizon, on average, does have the best national coverage. (notice the on average)

Tmobile covers 99% of all Americans and today's networks are comparable and not what they used to be 10-15 years ago.
Believe what you want and whatever commercials they present you.
That's what they want you to believe so you can pay an arm and a leg and feel better about it. Its the network.

Carrier quality is all based on location. T-Mobile will be incredible in some places and terrible in others, same with the other 3 major carriers.
AT&T is also increasing the unlimited data plan in March. This is the second $5 a month increase! So now unlimited data will cost $40 a month and I'm not happy. I've been with AT&T since the iPhone 3 came out, but now I think it's time to leave them.
