So i got my iphone 14 pro today , been using extensively for 4 hours , i can say eye strain is definitely less than iphone X but it is still there and slightly burning eyes and nausea. am hoping it gets better in few days else i would have to return , feels really bad its an amazing phone specially coming from iphone 11 .
Some users in the eye strain thread have been having better luck with the standard iPhone 14, or even iPhone 14 Pro Max. Maybe worth trying one of those iPhones?

i think iphone 14 was worse for me in the store since that had lot more flicker in slow mo video , didnt try iphone 14 pro max , do you think there might be difference in pro max and pro? since they have similar 480hz freq of PWM?

PWM frequency appears to be identical on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it’s possible amplitudes are better on the Max based on more positive experiences.

iPhone 14 might have a low rate of 60Hz. I’m waiting for a detailed review to see exactly what Apple’s done, as if it’s closer to a DC dimming 60Hz it might be fine.

i really doubt iphone 14 would be closer to dc dimming since it flickers too much and i had eye strain instore in an instance so

I’m probably going back to my iPhone SE. iPhone 14 Pro Max is causing much more noticeable migraines for me today. The flicker-free LCD displays are just so much more comfortable to stare at and use for PWM sensitive users.

yea man , i really love this phone and dont wanna give away but dont know if i can tolerate or risk it. might go back to 11

so iphone 14 notebook test reveals pwm freq of 60hz thats insane? i even doubt if thats true , 60hz is too less...

Just found this thread - I have a great deal of trouble using OLED screens because of PWM. Presently on iPhone 11 that I picked up earlier this year to replace an iPhone 8. I plan to stay on LCD screens as long as I can; hopefully Apple continues to offer at least one iPhone with LCD, otherwise I'll switch to a cheap android I suppose. It's just a phone, and not having headaches and eye strain is far more important to me than having the latest tech.
same here. still with iPhone8. Thinking of getting an iPhone 11 this holiday season...
