Worked fine until I tried to delete the file from the desktop. Required a hard reset. Had to grab another desktop from the library and then I could delete the M1 desktop file.

Hopefully this works. Had to zip it before it would let me upload it.

it does a cool dark version with dark mode on! neat ! thx

I would love to have some new Apple wallpapers... ever since interfacelift stop posting new stuff. I wonder if the wallpaper app will do a hardware check to see if my iMac is eligible? :p

Thanks for posting that. It's on my desktop and opens in Preview, but seems like I can't drag it into my Desktop Picture folder or the Preferences pane. Any suggestions?

It'll be interesting to see if the desktop colors coordinate to the body color.

Apple did this way back when with the original iBooks: the tint accents in the OS elements matched the case — e.g., my “tangerine toilet seat” iBook had orange tinting in the windows, controls, etc.

It does! From an old Snow Leopard installation I used to have, I pulled all the classic desktops from SL and have kept it to this day, and this folder includes all the Mac OS X 10.0 wallpapers. I even managed to find an archive of Mac OS 8 and 9 desktop wallpapers, so you could say I got the entire library.

Nostalgia, indeed. I particularly liked the ~10.3-era brown/grey wallpaper that had a macro zoom of stones. So soothing. Those new iMac wallpapers definitely screams 2001 all over again (which, ironically, is 20 years ago!).
Any chance you could share that library? :) I've been drying to try to assemble one myself but cannot find the entire stock collection in full resolution.

Ah!
'Wallpaper' is going to be the same killer feature in macos as emojis have been in every ios release the last 5 years!

For those who don't like the pastel colours; it's useful to know that these are light/dark theme dynamic, and the dark mode versions have much deeper shades.
