Any of these bugs probably also exist on 16.1.2 which is what the JB community is currently trying to stay on.

Yea I always hold out hope because in the Fall I decided to downgrade to 16.1.2 and the second I went to do so I see Apple stopped signing it! 🫠

If I could just remove the BoomerBar and the dynamic outline I’d be ok without a jailbreak.

Were not important security updates meant to be installed automatically by the OS now, without any user intervention?
Not for everyone. We have computers in our office that are dedicated to scanning checks and depositing them in one of our companies bank accounts. It's the same software that is used at the teller stations at our bank's physical offices. We can't update the OS because, it would break the check scanning and credit card processing hardware/software. We make sure those computers can only be used for depositing money. They are not used for checking Facebook pages and such or surfing the "Marmots Gone Wild!!!" website.

Just updated and the folders in Safari for storing website addresses are now in a random order. Its like fix one thing and buggar something else up!

My Apple watch update came in Taiwanese. But I am not Taiwanese and I am in the US. I declined it but it persists on my iPhone as an available update for my watch.

I thought they have Hot Fixes that install automatically now?
The update includes other fixes. I'm guessing they're going to use Rapid Response on isolated fixes when a point update isn't ready to be pushed out.

But, but....

Hasn't Apple been claiming all along that their reason for forcing other browsers to use Webkit was that they claimed Webkit offered better security than other browser engines? Bahahahahahahaha! 🥚on their faces with this one. 😄
Don't be silly. When alternate browser engines work their way into iOS, they will come with their own vulnerabilities. They always do. The difference is that Apple fixes a whole bunch of apps simultaneously when they patch WebKit.

I wonder how much more secure software would be, if developers just fixed security issues instead of adding features that come with new security issues. We are always told to update software, but not much seems to be won, if an update just exchanges old holes for new ones.

I hate that in recent memory these updates have come out on a Monday. Didn't this stuff used to be Tuesdays or am I only thinking about MS Patch Tuesdays?

This update on a Monday messes with my whole week :)
