Before I decide to buy PSP3000 from buy-now.net : Does anyone know what exactly are the differences between the 2000 and the 3000? Thanks !

If you're not worried about the interlacing artifacting, then go for it. I've had a chance to look at the PSP-3000 and PSP-2000 firsthand, and I'll say that I like my PSP-2000 better, just because it doesn't have the interlacing artifacts. Basically, there's a tradeoff: blur or interlacing. I choose the blur, and even though the PSP-3000s color rendition looks a lot better, I think in most case it over-saturates the colors a bit.

I have a 3000, a 2000, and a 1000. If I had to pay for them I would have the 1000. Thinner didn't matter much to me, and the new display has the characteristics of most Sony imaging devices. The reds are RED, over saturation is correct to the poster that said that. I have a DSC T100 and it oversaturates too, as well as my Bravia TV when it wasn't calibrated.

I think its a marketing thing, people seem to like it. Not everyone is a videophile, however I tend to be rather picky when it comes to my displays.

i cant wait im geting a psp bundle pack from 179 from amazon i had a psp 1000 back when the psp orignally came out im regreting i sold it but i do like the features of the new psp and i think the skype feature will be pretty cool

My friend just got the 3000. He had some extra money and wanted a PSP. I haven't seen it yet but... he seems to like it, of course he doesn't have anything to compare it too :p.

i had the psp 1000 i sold it right around when the ds lite came out the ds lite looked more intriguing to me at the time boy did i make a mistake i orderd mine tonight and im really looking forward to it ive been wanting to play GOW chains of Olympias and the upcoming Resistance and Kingdom Hearts game look awesome

I have all three ... and the improvements that you might notice from the 2000->3000 are:
- Brighter screen (with different issues as noted)
- integrated microphone (I actually did Skype with the awful PSP-2000 two-part solution for a bit when we were moving and I was in a hotel before the family came out)
- Nicer video-out for games (if you care)

... not much else, really.

There is no reason to get a PSP-3000 if you already have a PSP and *especially* if you have a PSP-2000. For me, my kids are using the PSP-1000 and 2000, so it is all good ...
