Hell no

I got a PSP Slim last Christmas so I had something to do at airports. They release like what, 1 game a month?

Sony's goal with the PSP is to try and copy the app store. What they should have done was put in a second analog stick, which is what everybody wanted. Instead they took the same PSP, made it look uglier, and gave it a stupid name

PSP's are gonna be a dead product in a few years

PSP Go is a stop-gap product designed to compete with the DSi (ie. incremental feature upgrade, make it look new). Float the idea of digital dist. around to see if people take to it without risking a hell of a lot since people can always just buy a PSP-3/4000. If it does well, then they can move forward in a certain way on PSP2 (which sure as hell better have two nubs). If it bombs, then maybe they take a different approach.

And saying it's going to be "dead" is silly. It has sold almost as many units than the PS3 and 360 COMBINED, and it's only been out a year longer. The only reason it's sales are looked down upon is because it's competition is ****ing sales monster.

I'm considering buying one to replace my 1000. I only have 2 UMDs which I never play. Does anyone have one? What do you think?

My psp-1000 is still going strong, so i have no need for the Go. I'd probably buy the 3000 if i wanted one anyway. It has more avenues for hacking and i like having my snes, genesis, and psx emulators in my pocket :D

I picked one up yesterday. I love it!!! I've always hated UMDs, once u accumulate them u can't take them everywhere ( too big). I sd my old psp 3004 4gb & 8gb cards and 3 games for $210 on CL. Had some reward points to use at Bestbuy. So I didn't spend much.

Pspgo feels slick, smooth and to me worth it. Very nice kit.

I went to a local (Berlin) Gamestop today, and there was no sign of the Go.

It's pretty wild how the most important retailers here (Gamestop/EB Games, Saturn, Media Markt) refuse to stock the Go. In Germany, those are really the three big places where one would go to buy video games. If I decide to get one, I guess my "choice" will be Amazon. I wouldn't even know where else to look.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out for Sony...

I picked one up from JB Hifi on Saturday before they jacked up the price to nearly $450 odd Australian grrr. I LOVE mine too! Easy to download games, awesome little machine. I haven't got my GT game or 3 free games yet, so I downloaded that game that is like Guitar Hero (forget its name?). Any other recommendations? Tempted to download Crash Bandicoot

i've heard im getting a psp for christmas haha dont know if it's gonna be the new one or not but pffft dont really care, only getting it for crisis core

Well not really, at least not here. The PS3 Slim is £250 (free game+free bluray) and the Go is £220 (3 free games and GT PSP).

£30 difference between a PS3 and a PSP? I know what I'd have...

Besides, I have the first generation PSP (is it called a PSP-1000?) which still works perfectly after about 3 years. I believe you can pick them up for less than £50 on eBay.

I am struggling between buying a new model of iPod Touch (32 gb) or the PSP Go. In the end I will probably buy neither and simply ponder between the choices until the next models come out in a few years.

If only PSP would allow me to play games downloaded from different PSN stores (just like on PS3) I would get one in a heartbeat. The game selection is so different between EU/US/Japan stores that I just need to have access to all of them. It's a big hassle having to activate your PSP for the games you want to play every single time. Games I'm after are for example: PC Engine games on Japanese/HK store, RPGs in US store, certain titles in EU store...

Also it would be nice to have a Mac version of the PSP Media Manager but we all know that will never happen either.

And about pricing, it is extremely sad that they are trying to rival the App Store but with games priced mostly between 20-40 dollars a piece it's nowhere near the 1-10 dollar range of the App Store. I really was expecting new PSP games to cost $25 at most and every older title around $10.

Why would they do that? Their games sell for $20-40 in stores, why would online be any different? They aren't going to sell games for less than DS games sell for. There ARE games ~$10, the PSP MiniS , which are meant to mimic the App Store.

If App Store games were the same quality as the professional games on the PSP i'm sure they would sell for the same amount. You really cant compare an iPhone game somebody made in their basement on a weekend with a PSP game that took a studio a full year to put together.

Umm, not to say what you have absolutely no clue what you're taking about, but ... guess what EVERY MAJOR ONE OF THE MINIS is? Yeah - an exact copy of an iPhone game! For 2x the money!

Maybe they picked the high price point to....fuel PS3 sales??

You know, maybe instead of saying, "Wow, that PSP is expensive, it's almost as much as a PS3", they are hoping for "Wow, that PS3 is only slightly more expensive than a PSP, what a great deal!"...?

Also, the PSP-3000 seems like a great deal now, cause it's so cheap compared to the Go!

Maybe Sony's sole intention of introducing an overpriced PSP Go was to drive up sales of their more reasonably priced products! :D (Plus, make some bonus cash for every Go sold!)

I traded in my Slim and the 5 UMDs I had towards a Go, and I couldn't be happier. :)

It's easily the nicest handheld I've ever owned. The screen, with higher dpi and wider color space is gorgeous. And even though I have large hands, I find the controls much more comfortable during long play sessions.

The biggest plus for me is that for the first time since buying my original PSP on launch day, I can fit the system with all of my games in my pocket comfortably.

(Also, PSP Go + AV Cable + Dulashock 3 + PS Once Classics + bedroom TV = heaven.)

I was thinking of getting it...

but it costs 380CHF which is about $380, which costs more than an Xbox 360. I was thinking of getting it but wtf, original psp cost on 300 CHF when it came out.

Definitely want one, had an online price drop to £200, just need it to happen instore now :p

I guess I could get one. I mean, my PSP is probably quite lonely after sitting in that storage container collecting dust for the last few years. :p

Absolutely not.

It's a PSP that costs $80 more and can't play any of my games.

Besides, I already have a PSP-2000 for CFW and a PSP-3000 for OFW.

Eventully when they lower the price wich rumors are saying that may happen after the holidays, despite the price of it I love the design of it.

I hear whinning about the PSPGO. I think that it is waaaaaaaayyyy easier to play madden on my pspgo than on the iphone.

The games are 2-4x as much, But I'm use to it. I like it. It will stop me from buying the onscreen controlled games on the iPhone. The controls aren't easy to use.

I have a psp3 slim too, still in box. Waiting for my Flatscreen TV.

I think the PSPGo price will drop to $199 buy Christmas. Sony knows that people want the price lowered, I think it takes them a while to figure things out. They still think that they are the top dogs and they still think theycan charge what they want, but they waited soooo long Apple has all but blown up their portable gaming strategy.... at least in the States anyway.

Check out Amazon.com. They just started selling PSN cards and games.... So here is hoping for lower prices. :):cool::cool::D
