It’s not basic at all. For one, email as a protocol isn’t too simple in itself. On top of that, Mail has a lot of features we have become accustomed to.

That may be true but this protocol has been around and did not change much since early 2000. Plus, a lot of basic UI stuff is broken, which is kind of disappointing.

You guys are getting me excited. I tried PB1 but I'm trying to wait till the GM now. You guys are making the wait hard.

Yes especially with IOS 8 coming out tomorrow and my phone getting here friday. I had DP1 and it became unusable. Mail had massive lock up and wouldn't send anything. Even restarts wouldn't fix it. The Tabs in safari would either lock up or not show. I would have to quick safari and relaunch to see them again. Very frustrating problems. I'm very close to downloading DP3 at the moment but will probably wait for GM to ensure I won't have to go back to MAV.

I've tried to get this update and it doesn't seem to be available to me. Why is that? When I click the app store, I don't see anything there. When I go to the 'appleseed' website and try from there, it says my redemption code is already used. Those that updated - how did you do it?

I won't be able to upgrade until like December when I'm off school...can't afford the risk of 10.10 breaking the apps we are required to use :(

Can't get Public Beta 3

I am on the Beta seed program. The last update I have was 10.9.5 on Aug 29th. When I check updates it indicates I am current. Did they take down Beta 3?

Did you check App Store for your purchases and see if Yosemite PB3 is shown ?

PB3 is pretty good. No freezes so far, which where pretty constant and annoying on previous betas. Less bugs, better overall execution and it feels snappy.

I'd say it's almost ready for the prime time.

I've had some minor problem with bluetooth and some graphical glitches. Thats pretty much it. I think I'll stick with PB3 till the final release and then do a clean install of the final Yosemite just to make sure I get stuff right.

Still some time to wait thought. So excited.

Still running Safari well.....no freezes yet.

There are some cosmetic differences. The best one, for me, the icons for network and usb drives are much improved.

Installed iOS8 on Phone and Pad today. So, now the fun begins.....will this all work with the Beta?

Software update is gone in the apple menu. Instead it shows App store. Apple obviously wants to monetize its customers even more, introducing this two step scheme to get to the update sections.

You could summarize Yosemite in this single phrase: if it ain't broke, why did you fix it? So many things that worked just fine are suddenly much worse off.

I'm not sure, but maybe you only signed up for the Mavericks beta, as 10.9.5 is Mavericks not Yosemite. Again I'm not sure, but I assume you may need to sign up to the Yosemite beta as well as the Mavericks before you can download it.

Hope that helps.

It would be good if they gave an option to change the default 'homepage' in the App Store, allowing users to change it from 'featured' to 'updates'.
