If you took off the heat sink then you will need new thermal paste.

Just send the thing in to get fixed. It looks like you're getting into a situation where you'll just end up doing more harm than good.

My mate pissed on my old Dell in Uni, got a brand new MacBook from the insurance company a week later. He's now my best friend.

Put on new thermal paste, no more shutdowns, and it runs cooler too

Just needs a new battery, and it's (almost) as good as new

Well, I guess a spoke too soon. It turned off this morning.

So it lasted MUCH longer... still a heat issue? Any other ideas?

I have a bit of a sleepwalking problem and I peed on my Dell desktop one time. Apparently I actually opened both CD drives and aimed for those as they were both open/sopping wet in the morning. Anyhoo it acted wierd for about a week and still runs great a year later maybe you just need some time and it will fix itself. ?
