I'm 6'4" with big hands and I hated the 7+. For the life of me I could not manage one-handed use with it no matter what. Got the 7 and I'm so glad I did. Love the size.

Having said that, if apple manages to shave some of the top and bottom bezels in the next Plus I'd consider it.
I know what you mean. I'm only 6' but have very big hands (i.e. Can palm a basketball) and the 6 Plus that I had for the last 2 years never felt comfortable for one handed use. Went to the 7 this time and it's a breath of fresh air.

Another reason I didn't go for the 7 plus: I'm in the camp that thinks we're in for a major redesign in 2017. If they do shave some from the top and bottom to make the (7s or 8) plus a bit more manageable/pocketable, the current plus design is going to be a dinosaur. Might be tough to resell for a good price.

So I bought both the 7 and 7 Plus in hopes of using both of them and deciding which one to keep.

After a couple days of owning both, I',M TORN.

I enjoy the better battery life of the plus and the potential of the dual lens camera.

Regarding the 7, the enjoy the one handed use and portability.

Unfortunately, I feel like the 7 Plus is just too big. And as a result of using the plus, the 7 feels so tiny.

Anybody else feel like they are torn between the 2? Or have any of you switched from the Plus down to the 7 or vice versa?

Nope, tried the Plus size reluctantly when the 6 came out ... took me about 3 days to get used to it (using it solely, mind you, not switching back and forth), and now I won't ever get a smaller phone.

Got the 6S Plus, and now I have a 7 Plus.

in the same boat...got 7 in the store and have 7+ coming in the mail today....got both from verizon. anyone have any idea how strict verizon is with the 35 restocking fee or is there a way out of it

In the same boat here. Upgraded to a 7+ from a standard size 6 and am completely undecided myself. I actually keep going back and forth during the day with both to see which I prefer, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

To preface, I am a woman with small hands so many times the weight and width of the plus are a bother to me, but then again when I pick up the 6 it feels small. However, I really wonder if the standard 6 is more of a true phone size too.

I've only had the phone since Sunday so I'm going to give it up until my 14 day return period to see if I can get more used to it or not and then I'll decide. Just hope that I can make a decision at that time! lol

Same! It's funny because the 7+ is bigger then my hand (at around 6 inches), 164cm height...but I don't have any problems typing with one hand. It's not that much different when the regular size is also a bit big for your hand if that makes sense.

I never thought I would do the plus size because of my pockets but then I realized I always carry a purse with me or a bag of some type so it's not a big deal...the 6 also stuck out of my pockets anyways (height and also you can see the outline).

I had pre ordered a 7 jet black. Coming from a 6+ I loved the portability and size.
The killer was the battery. I'm spoiled by the plus.
Just changed to a 7+ and feel much better. Battery life is the same as the 6+.
I will say the 7 was def faster than the 7+ it's just too bad the battery won't last a day with heavy use.

I can't say that I noticed any difference it speed between the 7 and the 7 plus.

Had the 6s plus and decided to go with the 7. I'm active and the plus was just too big and cumbersome. I'm loving the 4.7". I'm already used to the smaller screen (plenty big) and the feel in hand is amazing and portability is very nice coming from the plus.

I'm sure I'll go back to the bigger screen eventually but not until Apple makes the footprint smaller and reduces those bezels.

I've had the 6 plus, 6s plus and now the 7 plus and there is no way I can go to a 7. The experience is so much richer with the plus. In the first couple of weeks I had the plus, I thought it was a little big but I got used to it and won't go back.
ME TOO .

I am on Jump On Demand (I can upgrade 6 times in two years!). Just as torn as you are. I prefer the 7+'s bigger screen, battery, and camera.

I upgraded to the 7+ from the 6s. Earlier this year I had the 6s+. The main thing that bothered me with the larger device was my pockets. The 6s+ was a monster in my pocket (no pun intended). I had the LG G4 (also 5.5) and it wasn't an issue. I loved the G4's form factor. Large screen, fairly small bezels.

So yea, if you can deal with the size I think the 7+ has a lot of valid advantages. There's no denying, however, Apple needs to do some MAJOR bezel reductions for the next version.

I've never owned a Plus until I got the 7 Plus yesterday and have had every iPhone since the original. I can safely say I'm probably never going to go back to the smaller device; the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages for me.

It oddly feels fine in my pockets too, I don't notice much difference from the 6S, but I imagine skinny jean users wouldn't be too chuffed.

If the user has small hands, they're immediately at a huge disadvantage. I have big hands and can use the phone one handed - not too comfortable for a long time, but doable.

Exactly how I feel now. I upgraded to a 7 from 6s+. Found the plus too big to carry around. But now the 7 screen feels too small.
Arrrrrr!

Thing is its more optical illusion if you look at popular phone specs. The top and bottom bezels do make it bigger and look bigger, but they dont really affect holding it; the width really matters to get your hand around.

The iphone Plus size is a whole 1.8mm wider at 77.8mm than the G4 at 76.1mm; and thinner 7.1 vs 9.8mm (again helps with hand wrapping around the phone.

The Note 7 is still 74mm so it's not significantly narrower than the Plus either.

Note 7 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm
iPhone Plus 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm
G4 148.9 x 76.1 x 9.8mm

They're not radically different devices regardless of bezels a few mm here and there; the G4 is significantly shorter but I dont find the Plus height above the screen to affect anything.

Yep I do, so I just have both the 6s and the 6S Plus, bought the 6s on swappa. Now that i'm going to the 7 Plus I will probably sell the 6s and buy just a 7.
I

I had both the 6s and 6s+ because I couldn't decide either. Did a trade in on my mom's 6 for the free 7 through Verizon and gave her my 6s. I love the smaller phone during the summer months when I'm wearing shorts and such (5'4" woman) it's much easier to have in my pocket. In the fall and winter I can use the plus and carry easier in my jeans or hoodie.

I will probably hang on to the 6s+ till next year's phone. I am finding that switching every so often curbs my craving for a new phone! I figured investing in the two phones was cheaper than continually switching because I can't make up my mind lol

The small reduction in width helps a lot, but the main reason to get rid of bezels is weight. The iPhone 7 plus is considerably heavier than 5.5 Android devices.

Maybe if you have larger hands than mine you won't notice, but I owned both phones this year and there was a clear difference between the two devices for one handed gripability and weight.

If I only had one device I would do the plus. With iPads and laptops, I need the phone to be smaller. If software wasn't so optimized for larger screens I'd go with an SE.

tried to talk myself into going smaller, cant do it...I honestly don't know how people can read the smaller displays cruising the net and typing on small keyboards...I like how the smaller phones fit better in a pocket but I prefer the larger text and watching vids etc on atleast a 5+ inch display

Yep. That's why I carry a cellular iPad mini 4. I can't understand how people read the web on a smaller screen.

That's the thing, I really love 6s Plus battery life but I want the portability of the 7. Also, I watch a lot of videos/read a lot when commuting. I was thinking of buying a 7 (maybe with a smart battery case) and coupling with an iPad for commuting, I don't know what to do :D

I ordered both but eventually cancelled the Plus when my 7 arrived last week. The bigger screen may be a huge thumbs up, but for me the 4.7 is just the perfect size. It sits nicely in one hand, can be stored in every small pocket and still boosts a decent-sized display.

Oh Im not saying Apple doent need to cut the size down.

But it's really a lot closer than you would think looking at them. I think the slim bezels give it the illusion that the device is narrower than it really is.

The difference is actually negligible if you got out a tape measure and saw how small 1 or 3mm really is.

If we were talking Galaxy S7 (only a 5.1 screen) vs Plus then yes it's like 8mm narrower, a pretty significant difference (1/3rd of an inch).

As an SE owner, I can think of maybe one app that looks weird due to the resolution, but everything else is perfect and the same as the 4.7"/+ (obviously no 3D touch).

To the OP, I really think owning both phones side by side most people will go with the smaller of the two just b.c it feels so much better in hand. If you are serious about the + you really need to commit to it and go in head first. Use it for a week straight without using the 4.7"
