I know this is stupid question but i'll ask it anyway,

when you connect your laptop to ACD ,
do you plug the magsafe to the laptop or just wait till the battery drained and then plug the magsafe,

I just curious...

it doesnt really matter, just depends if you want your battery to go flat or not.

I thought about it myself. There are three things I can see happening. An HD plug, an iSight, and a complete overhaul of the design to look like the new iMac. I saw the new iMac and I can see the appeal, but the new look doesn't appeal to me. The lack of the HD plug doesn't phase me, and the iSight doesn't bother me.
The specs as they are in my opinion will last quite a while so I took the plunge. I don't and do not believe I'll regret it if they update in another couple of months.
The 30" was a great decision. For money saving purposes I thought I would get the 23" since I have a 20" dell, now that I have the 30" I am quite pleased. Upon first edit of some photos I knew it was the right choice.

I could probably guarantee that when or if the new displays hit, the prices will go up because of the new materials. Plus isn't Apple wanting to go LED displays? which again will bump up the price.

I agree with you though.

Though, I dread if Apple goes glossy for the ACD's. Imagine that. Even more so for the 30" 😱

That is right I forgot about LED. However, like you said LED is #1 not a big deal in my book for an external display and #2 not price conscious as you stated. LED was a huge deal when I saw it come on the portables, but 30 months into my powerbook I can't really cry about technology advancing as it has in 30 months. I could justify my decision over and over again and while I am a "next big thing" kind of girl, I think the overall price of the products has kept me modest at best.

So that makes 4 possible revisions to the displays. I do believe they should break out a 24" and drop the 23". The 1" doesn't matter, but it seems standard is 20, 24, 30 and every so often (Viewsonic) you run into a 28" and save $400; which would also be nice.

Glossy ACD is the death of the ACD if you ask me. I doubt it'll happen, but if it does I'll be shocked.

Hopefully a glossy and matte version will both be available if apple does decide to go with the glossy displays. However something makes me doubt that because the new iMac doesn't have the choice between those two 😕

And Jobs seems so convinced the people love glossy and thats that. :/ So the impression he gave me when the new iMac was launched.
