Thats only edge if you use AT&T, no problem with Verizon...

Fair enough, if we really want to try to deconstruct an argument by picking coverage nits. Though I could've easily replaced that with "Springfield, IL to Kansas City," and Verizon users would be in the same boat, with 1xRTT.

(And actually, I consider a lack of simultaneous voice & data to be a huge problem, in which case for Verizon, I could've said "anywhere.")

I think the OP has a solid idea and I agree that people are too dependent on tech now a days, but until we have a "Book of Eli" kind of apocalypse, technology is a day to day requirement unless you work in a job that doesn't make much use of tech (my grandparents are farmers and practically ludites).

Much like others, my iPhone is my only phone as I don't have a landline so I am even more tethered to my phone than some. I live in a 3 level townhouse so it gets towed around to neutral locations haha!

If I had a landline, the test would be moot because I would then be substituting my iPhone with my computer or iPad.

Or you could stop talking for a minute to do something.
