Issue with I-phone constantly rebooting

I have just pwned my I-phone 3G using QuickPwn and running the 2.2.1 firmware. I have now have an issue with the I-phone in a constant reboot loop and there is nothing I can find to stop it. The cycle is that the logo appears and stays there for about 5 mins and then the phone reboots and repeats the same thing. Is there anyone who can help me resolve this issue?

Quick Question

Just wanting to make sure I have this concept correct through my reading. If I have an iPhone 3G with 2.2.1 and baseband 2.30 that I have no interest in using yellowsn0w to unlock on and simply want to jailbreak, then it is OK to use QuickPwn. Am I correct in this thinking? I've jailbroke my 1st Gen iPod Touch several times and wanted to make sure that what I was interpreting from the dev-team's blog was correct. Thanks to any and all that help!

Correct. :) If you have no interest now in unlocking or possibly ever in the future, you can still Jailbreak any firmware with ease. :)

Yes I have read through almost this whole thread and have been trying numberous things...PLEASE HELP.

I just want to JAILBREAK my iPhone 3g. It is currently running on AT&T service.

Version: 2.2.1 (5H11)
Modem Firmware: 02.30.03
Macbook Pro OSX 10.5.6
iTunes 8.1.0 (10)

I have always updated all appropriate software and firmware.

I have followed guides mulitple times using Pwnage Tool and QuickPwn and build the custom restore ipsw, but everytime I hold option and try to install the custom restore package (in iTunes) I get an error and nothing is on the phone so I just revert back to my orig settings.

Well, if you could provide even less details...

1. You can't unlock with Quickpwn/Winpwn, you jailbreak with it.
2. You need yellowsn0w to unlock, that's if you have an iPhone 3G
3. What version OS's do you have?

Unfortunately, if you want help, you have a horrible way of asking for it...

Help Please!

I just jailbroke my 1st gen iPhone using Quickpwn and it looks like everything worked great, cydia and installer are now on my phone. However, the main reason I wanted to do this was to unlock my phone and it appears that never happened. I popped a T-Mobil sim card in my phone and the phone said to connect to Itunes. When I did, Itunes said that I was using a non-supported sim card. So it looks like I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what.

Thanks for any help.

if i have the latest firmware can i still jail break my 3G phone, i dont want to unlock it.

3.0 quickpwn

i have quickpwn for 3.0 beta 5 in my box but its in a zip file how do i open it

Just to be clear if I was to buy a new 02 pay as you go phone it would be unlikely that I would be able to unlock it?

Thanks for any help

I never see the red bootloader screens and Pwnage never brings it up. Trying to unlock a 2g on 2.2.1 with Pwnage. Been at this off & on for weeks and I can't get those screens to come up for anything.

I'd SO appreciate it if someone at least points me in the right direction to solve this problem. Thank you.

EDIT: I think I got it. For some reason, Simple Mode seemed to work.

Help Please!!!

My iPhone 3G us currently Jailbroken at version 2.2.1 (5H11)

Is there ANY POSSIBLE way to unlock it also?

I used quickpwn to jailbreak it but I want to unlock it also before selling it, if that is at all possible.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Thanks guys!

Okay the unlocking process is upgrading phones to 2.0, if i wanted to upgrade to 2.2.1 do i just download that firmware and follow the above steps?

Thanks, i am already unlocked right now with TMO, 2.1 and i want the latest firmware. Also plan on getting a 3G soon, so this will be perfect practice.

Unplug your iPhone and turn it off.
Hold down the home button, and keeping the button held, plug your iPhone into your computer.
This will make the phone go into recovery mode. Open iTunes.

Hi all,
Not been on here for a while but i will likely be buying the new iphone 3GS, however to be able to afford it i will need to sell my 2g 8GB iphone. Currently it is unlocked using pwnage and my software version is 2.1.

Is it a good idea to upgrade to 2.2.1 before selling it? What else does it give he phone. Also what is the best way to do it. I use a Mac at home.

Thanks
D

Well after much messing about with quickpwn i could not get it to work, itunes would not evern see the iphone. Downloaded the latest version of Pwnage and it worked a treat, i already had the 3.9 and 4.6 from when i unlocked at 2.1
It was much easier.

Cheers

3G + OS 2.1 + Modem 2.11.07 - Easiest Unlock method?

I will be receiving a 16gb 3G w/ OS 2.1 & Modem 2.11.07 later this week.

I am not super technical, but have unlocked my 2G iPhone using Quickpwn.

I would like to end-up with an unlocked 2.2.1 3G iPhone to run on T-Mobile and retire the 8GB 2G iPhone I now use.

I'm hearing that I must first upgrade to 2.2 via iTunes? Can one specify which version to upgrade to in iTunes or does it always give you the latest?

Is there a tutorial available that walks one through this?

Appreciate all your help, thanks!
