I've went through the pwning process until it tells me to shut down pwnage and restore iphone with the custom installer, how do i install the custom installer? I double click on it, itunes comes up, but nothing happens?

Mac people are free to fix it and go through all the bull **** for me. I'll catch the updated one for windows in a few days and not have to dick around with any of this.

agreed.
let Mac users stuff up and the Windows users getting the bug-free application later on.

its worth the wait if it reduces the chances of your $700 piece of tech turning into an expensive paperweight.

I unintentionally upgraded with the regular 2.0 from iTunes, instead of using the pwnage desktop version... Thought, it will take it automatically... Shame on me🙁
Now everything is just black...
Whenever I now try to select the modified one, it gives me the error 1600.
For sure, the deleting of /itunes/device support doesnt help now anymore.
Any idea to bring it back with an downloadable peace of SW?
Thx

Just to be clear you keep the folder. That's how I fixed mine, I did not have that folder and once I made it I was prompted through the DFU steps.

Just updated both my old 2g iPhones and up on eBay they go... sweet
😎

Worked on my first gen iPhone. Unlocked, baseband has been flashed and have made calls. Now I'm off to the App Store!

There is no reason to unlock if you are on the official plan.

I just love the fact that some people downloading and installing a hack, need to be told that! Welcome to the world of nanny state users among wild and woolly hackers. The "draft" has caught them up!

Rocketman

Hi Steve!! Remember the old days when the hackers were the rare minority?

I tried for over an hour and it just won't work..keep getting u failed not in DFU mode, and error (6) when trying to install new firmware...I'm just restoring it back to what I had..all I really miss from a jailbroken fon is summer board...wish the app store would have and app for that!! maybe one day!😀

i had ziphone, restored the iphone via itunes. went through the pwnage but it wouldn work. it goes so far as "cannot enter dfu mode"

back to ziphone.. i've been working on this for over 2 hours.

Can't get the damn boot loaders recognised.

I have a 16gb 1st gen iphone that i wish to unlock.

I have just re-downloaded the firmware.. so I guess that the bootloaders must be wrong..

Is there anything I could be missing?

Agre....

Oh wait.

My paperweight is working fine.

Oh well, let us find those "bugs" for ya.

FWIW, the core purpose of the program is working great. It unlocks, it jail breaks, it activates, it works.

Sorry I didn't mean to be vague you go to that button that says restore ipod hold down the option key and click restore then you get to chose what software you restore to.

Will this work if I unlocked my phone with ziphone originally?

Yes. It asks you have you Pwned the phone before and you can click no. Mines was unlocked on 1.1.4 using ZiPhone and I just successfully upgraded and unlocked 2.0 using Pwnage.

where is "options" in itunes? i dont understand, be more specific
*
no you hold down the option key, while pressing restore, this will open up the file box..look for where u stored the file, should be on desktop, double click on that, and it should restore, unless u get my hell of a problem called "ERROR (6)"
