Apple bought over a 100 companies, get over yourself.

Yeah and probably 80%+ were good moves. This turned out to be not one of them. Nothing to do with me. I just wish I could see the look on his face when he realized what he had bought. Big investment for a crucial component that should have worked out well, and it did the opposite.

Qualcomm's patent portfolio is massive and they have decades of iterations/improvements in their modems.

The first iPhone with an Apple modem will likely be the last I purchase for a good number of years.

3G is already shut down. Imo it is probably mostly will be for 5G as 4G currently is not getting any better. Thus my goal to upgrade my 7+ to a 5G capable iphone.
That's not strictly necessary, with the spread of 5G phones (not only Apple's), and the disappearance of 4G-only plans, fewer phones will default to 4G, reducing congestion (which is 4G's biggest problem).

Wel, that’s another possibility. But looking at how lazy the carriers are in my country (the top 3 literally didn’t launch VoLTE until the 3G shutdown), we will suffer the highly congested 4G for a while. Thus going 5G might make things more usable at least in few areas. 😂

It all depends on regulators, they could enforce 5G to be turned on.
