I took my Air 2 into my local Apple Store a couple of weeks after I bought it from there to add AppleCare +, I bought it in the box and they never even bothered opening the box to look at it, they scanned some info on the box and then told me it was covered, I was surprised, I thought they had to check it over first.

Thanks to all for your replies and discussion! I posted that, and then final exam week happened (5 exams in 4 days), so I never got a chance to come back and thank those who responded... so thank you all!
Turns out the unit was shipped a couple days ago, 10 days earlier than they had told me via online chat.
