Question about saving Steam games to external drive.

I was wondering if it is possible to download Steam game straight to an external drive, instead of saving them to my SSD. If yes, how do I do that??? Thanks in advance!

Symlink ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/SteamApps/ to your external drive. There are some threads with details on it here if you use the search.

I'd use an external connected via firewire, works great. I didn't notice any lag tbh,

Now that Lion is out, that really doesn't work anymore 🙁. Anybody knows how to do it with Lion???

There is no way that Lion will have changed how symbolic links work.

I have steam installed directly on my external so all files and folders will save there with the proper path..
