I was annoyed at the tone of the response from Solarguy17. I realize that this is just a phone and have been through this with Apple for more years and products than I care to admit. I understand people's excitement about getting a new product but I would never take it upon myself to tell someone that they were wasting time - or a place in the Apple phone queue - with a question that I did not feel was "important".

The "tone" I had/have toward threads like this is mostly annoyance. Because EVERY year the type of thread pops up. People get worried about the phone not changing to Shipped and being stuck in Preparing to Ship for Week. And yet you never learn. 99.9% of the phones will be delivered on time. They are processing millions of shipments as we speak. There will always be some people who have the orders updated before others.
I know it's rough but you will get your phone and bugging Apple Support about it won't help you get you phone any earlier.
That being said, there are thousands of others concerned enough to choke up the lines that you don't matter all that much.

But seriously you will get you phone in time. Calm down and be patient.

A- I am very calm. It is only a phone. But like others in all these threads I am curious what is going on with mine and other people's orders.
B- never said that I "mattered all that much" so please don't put words into my mouth (or messages)

In all fairness, if you know these types of threads pop up every year, and you're clearly so irritated by them, why don't you bow out until launch day. I'm not sure it's realistic or fair for you to expect the majority (those who gleefully partake in the shipping and plane tracking) to bend to the will of the minority who find it annoying or childish.

If you are calm, don't bug them about something that you know the answer to. And check lose the question here first instead of clogging the lines.

I'm wasn't annoyed at the posts. Having been a long time Macrumors user, I have seen and participated in my fair share of stupid posts.
My annoyance stemmed from sitting on the Apple Support hold for over 45 mins to try and cancel an order. Normally it's a 5-10 min wait, but launch week of a product the Support queue gets insane because of people whining about why there order hasn't shipped yet. Unless the delivery day has arrived and it hasn't shipped there really is no reason to call Support.

I called support to see if I would be able to preorder a Verizon phone at full price, because it hasn't been possible in the past. Does that meet with your approval? Was my question worthy enough to potentially take time away from more important people like you? Should we check with you in the future to see if our concern is valid?

To a degree, I get your point. But to put yourself in a position to judge the merit of a person's question when you don't know their previous experience and level of familiarity with the process comes off as arrogant. Surely you can see that.

I have a question for the people who have been posting information with regards to your UPS shipments for the iPhone 7/7+ preorders.
I placed mine at about 3:03AM EST on Friday for a 9/16 delivery. Got the confirmation a few minutes later and the order went to Preparing for Shipment early Friday afternoon. Nothing has changed since then. No shipping. Nothing on Fedex or UPS. Nothing on my Support Profile. (Though I did get a temporary authorization from Apple for the $77 tax.)
Just got off the phone with a support person from Apple as I was concerned with the lack of progress. According to her - NO IPHONES with delivery dates of 9/16 have shipped. They were previously brought into the US and will not start shipping until sometime Wednesday or Thursday. When I mentioned all the posts here with UPS information, her answer was that those were probably for delivery AFTER the 9/16 date.
So....my question is does she know what she is talking about or full of it???
Thanks (and good luck with your deliveries), Steve

All our phones are sitting in the warehouse below.
Last Location:
Arrived - ZhengZhou, China, Sunday, 09/11/2016

I'm specifically talking about people calling Support to know why they haven't charged or why their phone has been preparing for shipment for 3 days. They old "Why hasn't my phone shipped to me before launch" style questions.

Pretty much anything else, completely legit.

They have not officially 'shipped' to the consumer. The lady gave you semi-correct info.

What they are doing is being transported to staging and distribution centers to finally achieve official shipping status with an and to your local delivery hub. The phones are pre labeled in China so once they get here, UPS or FedEx know where you live and can get them to you in the time frame Apple has contracted. Until the tracking number shows up in the carrier or Apple's order system, they don't recognize the phone as shipped.

Just think of the phones you are seeing now coming from China as phones being stocked in virtual stores ready to deliver.
