I have a friend who swears by the Plus sized phones. He went to the X and was a little disappointed (at launch). I talked to him over the weekend asking if he would like the Plus sized new X phone that should come out soon. To my surprise, he said the normal X size is so nice and he doesn’t miss the larger phone now. He likes how it feels in the hand better. I ask this because I have a 7 Plus and and going to upgrade next month. I had decided I would order the largest one until my friend said this to me. Are X owners pretty content with the size now because it is more manageable in the hand or are you excited about the larger X plus phone coming out?

I have an 8 Plus now. I bought the X at launch and returned it after about a week. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time, but I definitely missed the larger (wider) screen. If there is no larger option for the next iPhone, I will probably keep my 8 Plus for another year.

I’m content with the size but will certainly get the X plus version. The X hasn’t been too small for me though.

This goes to show that with a bit of time and a slightly open mind one can often adjust to a different size device.
Should be a surprise really.

When the new devices come out, compare them side by side in a store to see with your own eyes what you prefer. Of course you usually have a two week return window to try the next iPhone as well to see if you like the size.

I had been using the 6 plus as work phone and then when it broke they game me an X. Satisfied with it in terms of screen size and yes more handy to hold. Battery life for my usage is more than good enough and close enough to what I was getting as a heavy user on the plus.

I wouldn’t hesitate to get this phone if you are a plus user. It’s good enough.

Personally I also would NOT get an x plus version, because then you go right back to phone bring not easy to hold in one hand and not as convenient to put in pocket.

I went from 6 Plus, to 6s, to 7 Plus and now been using the X since launch.

The Plus size phones always felt a bit too big for comfort and for pocketability, and one handed typing wasn’t realistic, but I absolutely loved the display, especially for taking photos and video.

Moving from the Plus to the X, what was most noticeable wasn’t the screen being smaller, but the display having less width. It’s still a 5.8” display and has the same height (or maybe a bit more) than the Plus, but in such an excellent physical size (close to the non-Plus iPhone).

I’m sure though that the 6.5” X in person will look stunning and be hard to resist, lol.

I loved my Pluses, but I love the X more. I don't think I'll go for the X+ unless it has some major distinguishing feature.

My thoughts are similar to yours. Although I probably will end up with the 6.5 iPhone X. Mainly because I want the larger display and larger battery. Everything else that comes with the iPhone 6.5 X that we don’t know about, is merely a bonus for me at this point. Although I don’t welcome the idea of having a larger phone to carry around, I realize there has to be to trade off if you want a larger display/battery.

I had the 6S Plus, 7 Plus and then used an 8 Plus until the X came out and returned it.

I will absolutely be getting an X Plus. I’m happy with the X, but I miss the larger size. And this phone is a little more narrow.

I hope the Plus version is as wide as the 7/8 Plus.

There are nice things about the X, its compact and very easy to hold. However I’ve used every plus phone from the 6 plus to the 7 plus and before Apple were doing bigger phones I used samsung galaxy notes. So I find it very hard not having a larger phone. I’m gonna go back to the X plus.

I was pretty excited about the X Plus but after looking at the proposed display specifications I’m a little disappointed for what it will do with 16:9 videos. A 6.46” display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio only gives you a 5.53” diagonal 16:9 display compared to 5” on the X.

That’s essentially the exact same thing we already have with the 8 Plus. A wider keyboard would be well appreciated and 21:9 video would look gorgeous on it but it’s too unwieldy to essentially have the same display area with most video content.

iPhone X has a perfect size to be put in shirt and pant pockets comfortably. Not too big. Unless iPhone Xs plus has 512 GB, I would stay with the iPhone X. iPhone Plus phone is not that comfortable to carry in shirt and pants pocket. It is too big especially for shirt pocket as it could fall easily if you bend down as it is not protected fully by the pocket. iPhone X does not have the issue.
Also iPhone plus feels very tight in any shirt and pants pocket and makes the wearer feel uncomfortable due to the tightness it causing the shirt and pants pocket. Unless the wearer has oversize body, shirt and/or pants, the plus size would not have any issue. :)

I went from 8 plus to X and it's definitely more manageable. The screen took a little getting used too, but now I don't ever notice a difference anymore. Not sure what I'm going to do this September time will tell.

I came from a 7+ and the X is the perfect size for one-handed use. I love the screen and camera too.

The ONLY thing that would make me consider the X+ would be universal landscape support so that it behaves like an iPad Mini. Having to switch between an app that supports landscape and one that doesn't (i.e. Facebook and eBay) was a pain on the 7+.

I used to use a 6+, then switched to a 7+ then switched to a X. I miss the large screen and also the I felt that the X does not get the same battery as the + model Phones. I am going to upgrade to the X+.

Remember how the iPhone 3G felt just the right size? Then the iPhone 5, and 6, and Plus?

I think you'll manage just fine.

I remember when I never wanted to give up my iPhone 4. Though that was also because iOS 6 was near perfect. Probably the smoothest running version of iOS while also having fewest bugs.

RIP STEVE ❤️

I really hope Apple Inc gets back to their old ways one day. Great hardware and great SOFTWARE.

I would've thought more people would stick with the Plus sized phone because of this feature. I guess those who switched to the X, & prefer it, aren't heavy Landscape users.

Ya the landscape mode is handy for certain situations and I think it is more used than 3d touch, I've had 7plus and currently have the 8 plus, it's clear from the posts here and probably alot more plus users that the 5.5 16:9 aspect ratio display on the plus was liked but the footprint and weight of the plus size is not good and an inconvenience for people out and about really, think I'll go for the new X in September

So it’s like the 8 plus with no bezels. That sounds great to me.
