Dear all,

We all know the 6+ is a phablet.

But is the iPhone 6 technically a phablet as well? It is definitely not 100% functional with one-handed usage, and so could be deemed as such.

Thoughts?

I don't know about other's definitions, but to me, a phablet is 5 inches+ on the screen size. So no, the 6 would not qualify, but yes the 6+ is a phablet.

No, "WE ALL" don't know the 6 + is a phablet. I don't see it as a phablet at all. I just love when people use WE.

It's a pretty arbitrary distinction, but seeing as how at 4.7" the 6 is still pretty much the smallest flagship phone, if it is a "phablet" what phone isn't?

No. I definitely do not think the 6 is a phablet. Not only is the size too small, email preview is not visible in landscape. I personally think that options that are tablet specific that are available on larger screen phones give the label a 'phablet'.

I think if your hand starts to cramp when you try to type one handed then the phone is a phablet.

The 6 is a great size, I wouldn't consider it one.

Please tell me how the 6+ is not a phablet??

phab·let
ˈfablət/
nountrademark
noun: phablet; plural noun: phablets
a smartphone having a screen which is intermediate in size between that of a typical smartphone and a tablet computer.
"a 3.5 inch screen is inadequate in a market that is trending towards phablets"

Did you read my post completely? Of course not. I said "I" don't see it as a Phablet. So much knee-jerking on MR.

Oy vey. Herp. Find someone else to pick a fight with. I don't owe you an explanation. I own an iPhone 6 Plus and I stated my opinion and that's all that was needed to be said. :p

I am not fighting... what is your deal? You said it is not a phablet at all (to you). You don't owe me an explanation of course, but just a bit strange to make a statement and provide no reasoning behind it whatsoever.

Question- Is the iPhone 6 a "Phablet"??

The iPhone 6 is rather small. It is as big as the moto x from last year, and that was a smaller phone. So if you walk into an att shop, or any carrier, you will see that the 6 is almost the smallest phone in there, with the only smaller phone being the 5s. The 6 is on the smaller side of the premium market phones, so maybe it would be a stretch to call it a phablet.

The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, is a bit big even in the current market, but not so big that I would say it is between a phone and a tablet. The new nexus 6, however, is definitely pushing the limits of "phone" and "tablet"

Let me ask you a question. Is a buffalo wing a racecar?

Just because somebody that hates Apple names it, doesnt make it.

You want Phablet? Go find a Galaxy Mega. That, is a phablet. the things the size of a small european country!

My point exactly. How can anyone make the point that the 6 is a phablet when it's actually among the smallest smartphones on the market?

I am so confused by the responses in this thread... do people here think being called a phablet is a negative thing?

I find the 6 to be 100% functional one handed, as have many.
I guess it depends on the size of your hands.

I will echo the others, The 6 isn't anywhere near what many would consider "phablet" territory.
6+, Sony Z3 Ultra, LG G3, Samsung Note, and the Nexus 6 all come to mind.

Precisely! The word "Phablet" basically now has only negative connotations. Wonder why all the 6+ people in here are so touchy about it :-/
