Question: Is the new iPad your first iPad?

I ordered an iPad2 for my wife and it arrived a couple of days ago. It's her first. My first is coming tomorrow. I waited a while, not for technical reasons, but because I wanted to see how I might use it at work and with my research for grad school. Now I'm convinced and really look forward to getting it on Friday.

I've had a 64G iPod Touch for two years and the use of an iPad 1st Gen from work for a year. I've longed to have an iPad that I could really personalize for myself. Once I upgraded to the iPod Touch 4th Gen I knew I could never be happy with an iPad that wasn't Retina display. So I've waited, and waited...

The iPad is an item that I'm still upgrading every year. I'm sure in time that will slow down but for now the yearly improvements are very impressive.

My first one!!! 32gb black wifi. I've waited such a long time to finally get one! I had enough money back in January, but by that time, I figured I may as well just wait for the new one to come out. There's no way I'm going to be able to sleep tonight

Second for me. I got the original on launch day, and have been holding onto it since. I decided to hold out for 1GB of RAM and a retina display, and sure enough, here they are

Kinda confused with a bit of contradiction there. You planned to keep it for two years, hence you get the 4G (with contract, I assume) .. Yet you feel okay to upgrade iPad ever year and then. So .. How long you're planning to keep it?

There is no contract with my iPad. It's a Verizon iPad, the 4G service is optional.

This will be my first. Had an iPod Touch when the first one came out and didn't see the point. Then got an iPhone, so .. still didn't see the point. Now that more iPad specific Apps are out for it and it would be useful for some work stuff - I finally see the point ...plus I always wait 1 or 2 generations before getting an Apple product. (lesson learned after I got 1st gen Shuffle)
