Those things come and go with great regularity. Keep waiting for the new models. Even if you don't get one the refurb you want will be cheaper once the new models hit.

The model I want is back... Very tempting not to purchase but I hope the wait will be worth it! :)

How much do the refurbs drop in price normally?

You come here to ask about companies return policies, how about doing some research at these companies websites or calling them. Why don't you call apple and let them know your intentions and see what they say about it. They may say sure that sounds like a great idea.

My personal view on it is do not use a return policy as a free rental program until you get what you want. Processing returns and selling the item as a refurb costs these companies a lot of money. It will drive up prices in the long run or cause other companies to go out of business.

Use your best judgment, no one here will convince you other wise.

Umm in what part of the original question did I ask for somebody to convince me?? Did you read the post?

Yeah like apple is gonna go broke because of what me and other people are doing. Calm down.

Mods might as well close. Posts are getting irrelevant. Thanks to those who actually helped.

Yes I read your post, your asking questions about return policies that you could have looked up your self. Pointless thread to begin with. No need for me to calm down, I was never up. Apple will not go broke but the prices of their products will go up with your actions and morals.

Frequent lurker and I RARELY post, but I figured this is the 2nd best place to ask this question.

Mods im sorry if im posting this in the wrong place but I looked around and couldn't find a suitable one to post on other than this. Plus question is somehow related to me buying a new MBP so hopefully that counts. :D

So my question is..

regarding apple's return and exchange policy. I know pretty much about the 30 days returns policy but I want to know more about their policy regarding returns after buying a new mac but after a certain XX number of days a NEWER model drops.

For example I buy a new MBP on June 4 and "suddenly" newer models go on sale on the 18th will I be able to return my older version MBP in exchange for a new one? Do I have to give them restocking fees?

I'm asking this because I went to get my MBP fixed a few months ago and one of the associates I talked to I told him I was interested in buying a new one but I was scared when a new model drops itll have better features but he told me they would accept an exchange if a newer model does come out within 14 days of buying a mac.

Any positive feedback is more than welcome!

Negative ones you can keep it to yourself!

Thanks in advance!!
Just get one now if they are releasing new one within 14 days of your purchase, you can return for full refund and order a new one. It happened to me. It is not right or wrong eThics.....

We are customers and we just follow company return and exchange policy. If you think i abused of its policy, then just read policy again.

Buy the Mac at best buy. They have a 30 day return period. No restocking fee. When the new one comes out, exchange it for the new one if you want it.

Hmm... Even if it's a new redesign? What does anyone think about the current price of 1659 for the 2.2 15 inch anti glare model?

Kind of uncharted water with the refurb store since there hasn't been a redesign since 2008. My guess would be that it wouldn't change.

Thats a good price for that model. If you need it, I'd go ahead and take the plunge now. If you can hold out and perhaps would like to consider one of the new models.....then wait.

Cool thanks for the advice - Its hard to wait but I hope the upgrades will be worth it !

Were in a return policy does it say you can keep using their computers until a new model comes out. You can't possibly think this is good ethics knowling using a stores product until a newer model hits the shelves.

Your best bet at this point is to purchase one on the used market. You'll get a significant reduction compared to the refurbished price and that price will only become better relative to the new launch or immediately afterwards.

If you can buy one at a low enough cost, and they are out there in increasing numbers as sellers are watching their value drop each day the new announcement nears, you will be able to resell it after the launch anyway.

But it sounds like you actually want the pre-refreshed model to keep if what you are writing here is truthful. In that case, your lowest price will be from striking a hard bargain with someone who just bought a new model and can't wait to get the newest refresh in a few weeks.
