this sounds like another crappy incremental update....we need TRUE iPad mini upgrade with 2 GB And Thinner design!

we dont need it Thinner the more Thinner they make things the more issue you will run in to the ipad was vary good tablet up too about ipad air 2 has soon has that cam out it has all kind of issues thanks too the thinnes it has so if you keep going thinner is not a good idea so the ipad air 3 needs too be like ipad air 1 not too thinne and you wont have any issues

When you've got over half of iPad users on A5 devices, thats an issue. iOS 9 should hopefully improve performance.

iOS 8 is not unusable on A5 devices - I'm on my iPad 2 right now and it could be faster but its still useable!

Well, even after setting my iPhone 4S up as a new iPhone, it still lags enough to be annoying with almost every operation. I had used it as my "home iPhone" and my 5s as the phone I take with me when I go out. This meant I didn't have to charge my 5s as often. As for my iPad Air, I'm not using it nearly as much as I thought I would when I bought it in 2013. I'm thinking about trading it in for a iPad mini 4 and with the iPhone 6s I plan to get later this year, I'll have a good mobile tech combo once again for home/outside.

Strange for your 4S to do this. It is definitely slower but shouldn't lag everywhere...

Compared to my 5s, it boots up slower, every app loads slower, typing input is slower to register sometimes (a second sometimes passes before the letter shows up), websites load slower than my 5s. Once a app loads, it's not too bad depending on the app, but it's noticeable. Overall, it's not the smooth iOS 7 experience I had before I made the mistake of upgrading to iOS 8.

Anyway, I learned a valuable lesson that some people already knew, avoid upgrading your iOS device with the 3rd major update until you know for sure that your performance won't be crippled like this. Actually, you probably should be cautious when updating to the 2nd major update. Lesson learned for the next iOS device I keep for at least 3 years.
