60gigs by tethering what the hell!
Why would you use your iPhone as your internet connection for your home?
If you are serious get a JOB and buy home service.
Always a few i guess who think they are "sticking it to the man" but are really just immature technerds who are to cheap to buy broadband service and try and play WoW over their tethered connection.
You are AWSOME......
NOT
I have to agree with the others, you're kinda an idiot. This does look like something a brainwashed AT&T retail store employee would write. Let me clue you in with a couple facts:
1) AT&T's promotional DSL rate, or "home internet" as your 1990 mind seems to call it, runs at $14.99 a month for 768k download and 128k upload. Seems to me it makes sense for this guy to use the wireless network at 1-5mbps down, and 300-1250k up... which is 3-20x faster than AT&T's "home internet" as you so blindly call it.
2) You telling him to get a job is funny. Sure, he may be downloading torrents, but he also may be uploading apps to a Sharepoint server where he's collaborating with other users. Just because you have to go into a store to work, and login to "clock in" to get paid doesn't mean there aren't programmers and other professionals who aren't sitting by the pool on their laptop working and using mobile data to upload their work. Not everyone is a clock-punching-ATT-retail-monkey.
3) Where did he say he's sticking it to the man? Regardless of my personal opinion agreeing or disagreeing with him, I can respect his perspective. When a company offers unlimited data with a device that's capable of consuming many gigs of data, unlimited is unlimited. I know your boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss (Ralph De La Vega) doesn't know the difference between an unlocked and locked phone, so how can we possibly expect you to understand how the contract is interpreted from a legal standpoint, since you clearly just blindly repeat others rather than try to come up with any original opinion of your own.
4) You don't even have a fundamental understanding of IP technology. To make a comment "you must sit playing WOW all day on your tethered connection..." is so uneducated. I'm not a gamer, but I understand the fundamentals of how a game works, it actually uses VERY TINY amounts of data because it's only sending player game location data, not photos, not music, not large files of any kind. Seriously, get an education.
I agree with the others, this guy clearly works in an AT&T retail store. AT&T loves to send their employees memos to try and "train" them to think the way they do, and make generalizations like this guy makes... "clearly if he's using 60GB he's a bad person" ... lol... Maybe he's just taking full benefit of his contracted plan? If you move across town and move into an apartment highrise and the coverage isn't good inside, so you have to port your number to verizon. Do you think AT&T is going to let you out of your early termination fee? Hell no. LOL. They'll take full advantage of the contract they enter into and make that $325 off you, so why would you not think the same?
AT&T tries to make the issue emotional, because they're bent that they waited so long to upgrade the network now they have to do anything they possibly can to make their technology last as long as they can while they're upgrading, haha.
It never ceases to amaze me how bad the unionization of the workforce at AT&T retail stores has made the experience. What do you get when you combine retail AT&T employees with a Union? Nightmare. Uneducated, Unskilled workers w\ job protection. Scary!
