I hated it at first and switched back to version 6 because they moved my frequently used buttons (EQ/Visualizer) around. Also the interface was hideous for me. Finally the thing has some glitches such as:

.My iPod summary page fails to load initially, until i click on something else and click back
.Takes a while to launch from scratch everytime...waaay too long
.I cant close its window by tapping on the trackpad, i have to use the actual trackpad mouse button/external mouse click
.Coverflow is slowwwwww and late to update as well as being a resource hog. I'd like to think an ATI Radeon 9700 128MB is a decent card to handle it...apparently not.

Few others but im tired of typing. Anyhow, as a compromise, I run version 6 on my main workhorse computer whilst using version 7 (with a few hacks just to make it workable) on my other machine as a beta tester. As far as im concerned its a beta release.

It works really great.

I do have a couple of issues (coverflow doesn't load at all and some songs lose their order within an album after being transferred on the iPod) and a couple of personal pet peeves (I liked stand-alone iPod updates better, get album art from iTunes needs to be improved).

OTOH, I love all of the new features and the improved video playback and iTunes ranks again as one of the 3 top apps on my mac.

it seems that 7 has been built for faster Macs. It works great on a MB and a MBP (both 1.83GHz models), and i reckon its faster than 6 (probably due to optimization).

The new iTunes is fine, but I wish they kept the Aqua interface and preload all album art when viewing as disk shelf view.

i like, but dont like it, they killed aqua! But, i found some freeware that brings aqua back to itunes 7 and now i absolutely love it. For those of you that want it it is called aguat, http://www.thrica.com/software/aguat/ wisha apple had ncluded it, but i do like 7, and alot alot more now

"feelin fine"...

altho there is one thing - every now and again the headings for example "title, "artist", "track" etc.. all get garbled into some weird font.. dont know why or how..

altho re-opening itunes fixs it back to it's correct font.

is this a known bug (sorry, i haven't checked)

I've been having problems with playback on my ipod mini, through my imac i'm fine...I was prompted to restore my ipod with a bug fix and haven't had teh chance to check it yet today.

Works perfect so far. Had issues fetching album art, but I realized I don't even care if I have the album art or not, I just want to listen to the music.

I had to uninstall itunes 7

After downloading iTunes 7 from apple website and install it on my IBM laptop (a corporate one I have to say, huh!), I got connected my ipod and...

... well, the first thing iTunes did in my ipod was delete ALL my album covers (regardless the flag to include this art was marked)... after that it was impossible to go back to the beginning, so I made a dramatical decission:

REINSTALL ITUNES 6... sadly the covers didnt appear again in my ipod, so I had to spend 3 days copying each of them once again... you know, everything was so windows friendly.

I am going to be a switcher in a short time (waiting for MBP, anyone else? Hahaha), but this experience made me wonder if Apple is not becoming a sort of Microsoft styled company... hopefully not.

I don’t mean to be a troll with this reply, I am just worried about Apple remaining a spot in this Windows world.

Cheers,

yup! quite amazing... Anyway, in my country nobody votes to the labour party (or they say so) but they are in the government :D

My upgrade has been alright, but I've had to reinstall twice because of how iTunes is a memory hog and won't open up sometimes because there's not enough memory to run it. I'm not paying money to buy more RAM. 512 was enough for iTunes 6, it should remain the same.

Not pleased at all

I think it should have been a beta release.
It killed my iPod.

Downgraded to 6, and will stay there until Apple considers all of the people out there who are still on Pre Intel machines...

Maybe not a beta release, but definitely should've been perfected before being released to the public. I expect that it will get better from here.

 while not nearly a scientifically-accurate survey, the results seem to suggest that, despite a lot noise being made, the problems are only affecting a small portion of users.

The actual upgrade has been flawless. I've not had any problems at all.

The programme itself on the other hand could do with a few tweaks (mainly graphical lags and the Coverflow bit is too slow when you scroll fast).

Keeps quitting every time I change a song.

Tried everything, nothing works.

Was great until today.

CDDB Lookup Failures

Anybody having CDDB lookup failures?

I'm re-ripping a few hundred CD's (3 drives) and about every fifth one fails to match on CDDB. I have to take the disc out, re-insert it, sometimes in the same drive, sometimes in a different drive. Doesn't matter if it's the ATAPI, Firewire or USB drive, same result.

I can't tell if it's an issue with CDDB's servers or iTunes 7, of course, though I've never had the problem before iTunes 7 came in. It seems to be more of a problem if I'm ripping 3 discs simultaneously than if I do one at a time (which is an incredibly inefficient pipeline).
