Upgraded 2 days ago, and though the UI took some getting used to (its still growing on me), its been pretty seamless. I dont like that now whenever I start up or exit iTunes, it has to load or save the library... bugs me a little bit.

Its runnning smooth as butter on my PB, but not quite on my PC

I hate that, too. That's one reason why I'm not installing it on any other computers.

mine goes pretty sluggish and then I consolidated my mp3's and then they uncosolidated themselves.....

The only thing I noticed that went wrong is that I re-encoded my whole library because of skipping/short play of songs and things that were not ripped again should have been deleted from the iPod and were not.

Smooooooooooth, Gapless playback, album cover's find, 2 of the best features ever added!

Agreed. Installed on three machines and have had nary a hiccup. Love the album cover find and the gapless playback. From the sounds of some folks' issues, it seems that they released it too soon, but I 'm sure glad to have it.

Loved it. At first.

As soon as I saw the demo I was hooked and downloaded it right away. Everything went smooth as silk. I like the new interface. Love some of the new features. Was completely in love with thie idea of gapless playback (lots of Floyd in my library). Everything seemed to go perfectly.

Then I plugged in my iPod. Like the new status screen. Everything went smoothly.

THEN, i listened to my iPod. Nothing seemed out of sorts. But then I noticed something: my playlists were not nearly as long as they usually were and several songs did not play. I looked on the iPod, and sure enough all the songs were there. It seems every 2 or three songs one gets skipped. The iPod pauses for a second, tries to play the song and then skips it. Huh?

I think I have fixed that - but the way to fix it was to select all my songs in iTunes, and set them to all say they were NOT part of a gapless album. Now everyting on my iPod is working again - but I have lost one of the features I was most interested in.

Revenge of Steve Jobs?

My experience with iTunes 7 depends on which platform it is used on. On the Mac, this application seems to work pretty well (iMac intel and MacBook). However, on the PC (P4 2.5G, XP home, 1G RAM, Audigy sound card), it is atrocious. I have tried all the fixes I can find (adjusting sound quality, etc.) but the playback skips and the sound quality is bad. I used iTunes 6 before which was just find on the identical hardware. I hope this gets fixed because Winamp just seems primitive comparitively, although the playback quality is normal. Is this payback for all the bad Mac ports of Windows software in the past? Remember Word 6?

The iTunes update was easy and painless. In my opinion, that update was neither good/bad. It's just like iTunes 6. Only annoying thing was the album art. Sometimes if you scroll too fast, the album art comes with a '?' even if you saw the album art before.

My only issue has been with existing albums that should be gapless. iTunes 7 did not pick them up, but I didn't really expect it to either. It's a simple fix for me to manually change the information.

I enjoyed my experience with iTunes for the most part until yesterday (the icon looks decidedly Microsoft to me, though, and gapless playback isn't flawless). I then hit a snag where I was unable to download music from the store, and was unable to play any of the music I had ever purchased. I tried all the Apple fixes and even emailed the support crew; I finally quit and relaunched the program, and it all worked again. I dunno if it was just a program bug, or if they needed to fix a problem on Apple's side, but it was a headache for the better part of an afternoon.

I just had this problem and it's frustrating the hell out of me. I thought it had something to do with the network that I'm on at first, but when I couldn't play any of my purchased music it pissed me off beyond belief. Apple has plenty of problems to fix with iTunes 7. It's ridiculous how many issues I've encountered...

Backup and restore works well

I used the backup facility in iTunes immediately after installing it, and it works really well. It restores easily too, although it's a bit slow in that respect. A nice thing is that its restore function is not platform dependent -it restored to my PC laptop too from a backup made on my Mac.
