Quick reply box? Why not?

As far as I know MacRumors doesn't have one at all - It would be cool though, most other forums have them 🙂

There are currently looking at the possibility for that. They added the "Quick Reply" for private messages and I find it really useful.

long story short, they feel that there will be less useless posts if you actually have to go to the reply page to make a reply instead of just posting one word answers to threads there by making it more like a chat room and less like a help forum.

I dont know what you mean by "looking into the possibility" vBulletin has one built in its just disabled.
