I was going to recommend bitesms but it's tough to convince people that they need anything more than a quick reply option. I was stubborn at first and I bought irealquicksms because I decided I didn't need the full-blown irealsms program. When they stopped development on irealquicksms and they upgraded me to irealsms for free, I was still stubborn and kept using the stock sms app (only used irealsms for the quick reply/quick compose functions). When I finally decided to try the full irealsms program, I couldn't believe what I was missing.

Then I got my iphone 4 and really missed irealsms. When I was finally able to jb, irealsms was a bit buggy so I tried bitesms. Bitesms is even better than irealsms and it's cheaper! There are a couple features that it lacks but they are constantly updating the app and those features will be added shortly. Plus you can use it for free if you don't mind looking at ads (I hate ads though so I just bought my license since my trial expired today). Well worth the $8.99.

What are the other things that BITE SMS does that quickreply and other programs don't... because i can't really imagine what more i would need... is it just like customize colors and stuff like that??? quick reply has worked great for me... i gotta wonder what bitesms offers that is worth 8.99 for?

Yeah it killed restored and forgot I had my shsh saved. Best text app just hated the icon so I changed it.

Yep, first thing I did was replace the icon too:D

I remember posting in another topic trying to convince people to use biteSMS...you were one of them lol.

What can I say?
You were right:D

Welcome to the dark side!

Thank you:)

Where do the ads appear?
I got the trial version till the 8th and I dont see no ads so far.
And the $9 is well worth it for this type of work and time the dev put into this IMO.

Yeah $9 is pretty good price for the app, you can get a preview of the ads if you want, go to BiteSMS Settings > Credits / License Info > Show me Advert (switch it to on).

Ads are annoying as hell on this app, so the $9 become even more attractive once you start seeing those freaking ads.

There are way too many features for me to list them all but like Applejuiced said, you can check them all out at Bitesms.com. Some of the features that I really like are the ability to stop a message from sending if you hit send by accident (I do that all the time) & the ability to delete/dismiss/mark as read messages right from the lock screen. The bitesms icon will also show a badge if one of your messages failed to send (they are also adding the ability to automatically retry failed messages). You can also use emoticons in quick compose, quick reply and the actual bitesms app - the stock app doesn't do that. The newest beta allows you to assign custom sms tones to your contacts and there's also an option set it up so that you receive led alerts via the iphone 4's flash (I'll never use that function but some people want or need that). They are constantly updating the app with new features and they really seem to listen to the users.

Totally agree about the ads. Someone here had told me that you only see the ads on the settings page - that is 100% false! Like you said though, it is well worth the price. It is by far my most useful jb app, with lockinfo being a close 2nd.

If BiteSMS will fix one thing, I'd be sold. It doesn't save your "draft". I HATE that when I type up a long message and for whatever reason I have to leave the app or hit the sleep button, when I go back, the unsent message is gone. The stock app keeps it for you. I'm always texting at work which means I have to quickly put my phone away at times. I loved Bite otherwise, but that is a major dealbreaker for me. :(
