Spotlight launches apps in exactly the same way. Apple + Space, type the first few letters of the app, and done. Quicksilver is retarded.

First, why would you bump a 2 year old thread? Second, Spotlight can be significantly slower than Quicksilver, because it indexes your entire drive. Thirdly, you can launch multiple apps at once with Quicksilver or email documents or play/pause iTunes, which you cannot do with Spotlight. Fourth, you can tell Quicksilver that "Net" should give you the Network prefpane and "Network" should give you a specific app. Can you configure snippet-->app matching in Spotlight? No. You cannot. Spotlight helps you find stuff; Quicksilver helps you do stuff. They are different and serve different purposes.
