QT - no picture

Yeah - I confirmed that I am running Tiger on my older machine and I am sure I reinstalled the right version of QT.

As I said I can run the HD 480p trailers just fine (the 1080p are jerky) but whenever I go out into the real world and encounter a normal QT movie I am back to sound only but no picture.

It seems especially odd that when I go to the Apple site and view their normal QT training videos I get the same thing - sound with no picture.

Thanks for all your help.

p.s. Otherwise I am loving OS 10 Tiger on this G4 450. I previously had OS 9.1 running on a Newer Tech 325 G3 upgrade card and now this is way faster! I am beginning to adjust to the differences of the OS 10 interface and think I will end up liking this much better. As a graphic artist I still miss some of the features of OS 9 but they are fading into the back of my mind.

flip4mac worked fine to get the video picture on QT, Im not sure what perian was suppose to do cause it did nothing.

I still cannot upload the movies onto imovies, so what do I do?

I'm trying to edit my movies, edit, put music, etc...

Try Visual Hub. The demo version is limited to converting short durations. But it should be enough to see if it'll work before coughing up the $23 for the full version.

Convert your files to DV if they are Standard Def sized.

If they are HD sized, then you might want to convert it to HDV or AIC. iMovie will have to conver the HDV to AIC anyways, so if VH supports converting directly to AIC, then you'll save a step.
