I would suggest backing up and doing a fresh install. Obviously something in the software is toast.

In the future, relax on the permission repairs. You don't even need to run perm repair once a month.

Open Energy Saver Preferences. What graphics options are selected?

There are lots of things you do that you shouldn't need to. Apple says it decodes but in your case it obviously isn't. Does that mean it's not happening? I did a 2nd install on a Partition on the HDD. Same thing, it calls the legacy framework

What do you really want from this thread? A place to complain? Because multiple solutions have been offered and you've turned them all down. I know none of them are fixes for QTX, but they do offer a temporary workaround so you can watch your videos smoothly until you figure it out.

I guess you think it's more important to complain that be able to watch your videos. No one is saying these workarounds are the be-all-end-all fix, but it would allow you to do what you want. That's apparently not good enough.

Permissions are what give Mac OS X its security. About 50% of it actually, Besides Sandboxing, Keychain, ect. So you kinda need to, I take this thing everywhere so security is needed on public wifi.

My Mac only has 1 GPU which is the 9400m I added the 7200 RPM drive myself for a little speed boost.

LOL Maybe you should read my first post better HERPADERP, I said iTunes would decode and play everything fine on the GPU, I just think it would be nice not needing to do that. Because i use Quicktime for all of my Movie needs. So instead of getting all upset because i decline on your idea because i already have about 5 TYPES OF MEDIA PLAYERS/DECODERS. I would not like to add anymore/Nor use anymore. I come from a Linux background, I am used to not only having a choice to what i want to use. But also getting help almost instantly from people. I googled for about a day when doing a paper for Chemistry, if you really need to know what i do with my life. And i do not repair permissions myself, i modified the daily CRON script to do it for me. Obviously you have no idea how to use Mac OS X, if you do not even know the UNIX base system and how it works. So what do you do with your life then? You know, other then try to feel better about yourself online because someone declined to your idea, thus for you having an fit like a child would, if you do not want to help don't.

Dang, I thought I unsubscribed from this thread.

However, if you think repairing permissions will make your computer more secure, and you need that because you are on public wifi, so be it. Meanwhile, I won't waste my time with that. What could you possibly be doing in all those directories to mess up permissions daily?

BTW: the new way in Mac OS X is launchd, not cron. cron works, but it might not be around forever.

And others weren't necessarily telling you to use something else, they were giving you suggestions to perhaps narrow things down. But instead, you've ignored everything in this thread. If you feel you get so much help in the Linux community and know more than everyone in this thread, then why are you still here?

Because i love trolling people like you :)

And Launchd is the process that can call in CRON, But also still runs CRONs scripts. DERP

Also, Found out that Front Row will have the media decode on the GPU as well. I'm guess its just the legacy quicktime butting in because its in mp4. The same format quicktime 7 was made to play, Guess its a tiny glitch on Apples End. Well i found a solution to my problem. Thanks to everyone who helped.

So you've admitted to trolling? Hey mods, how about a lock?

And launchd is meant as a replacement for cron. Apple has said so.

Maybe look above :)

And my first message said it might not be around forever.
Finally you found a solution....we're done here.
And gotta love ignore lists!

Could be a preference file issue

Could be a preference file issue.

Hitachi-Chan, try a little less arrogance. Nobody here owes you a squirt of piss, so cut the crap. A touch of humility will take you much further than being a little prick.

There's no reason to run permission repair on a daily basis... that is why unix cron schedules it less frequently. If you are experiencing daily modification of permissions, it is likely your computer has a problem beyond erratic video acceleration.

I agree with the earlier suggestion above; try making a new account. Even if the problem persists with the new account, at least it helps narrow your search to either system files or real hardware issues.

If problem persists with new account, try resetting the SMC/PMU. If that fails to resolve the problem, do a fresh OS install.

If after that, the problem remains unresolved, I would schedule an appointment with an apple genius.

Nowhere did I mention the Unix system. You added to what I said when you quoted me, what's up with that?

I hardly think what I said was throwing a fit like a child. This is the end of the thread for me.
