Wow! Good for Radio Shack. Nice to see something aggressive.

$5 is 5% off on the $99 phone. Which is more that you would get at Apple. If you factor in a possible trade-in rebate, somone might get the phone for half price

No. I think you still have to sign a $2,000 contract before they will let you buy the $95 phone. That works out to something like .005% off the total price

OMG $5 off!!!!!! RUN for the stores!!!!!!!

Exactly. Apple's "sale" prices have been ridiculous since Apple started selling computers.

Apple makes good stuff in general, but their failure to ever have a real sale (something more than 5% off) is one reason why Apple (except for the iPod line) is never #1 in marketshare. Apple is pretty much the same as Bose regarding pricing methodologies. Yet, on the other hand, with Apple always making a super healthy profit margin, Apple seems to enjoy selling low volume and charging high prices. Hey, whatever makes Apple happy. :)

actually

A while back I traded my 3G in for a 3GS and got the phone, case, dock, and screen protector for $105. Radioshack actually has incredible deals on discontinued items such as cases and dock radios. If you go buy once a week like I do, you'd know that the store kicks some serious ass if you want something decent without breaking the bank. You just have to be patient and stop being a snob about where you shop.

Radio Shack. You've got questions, we've got batteries.

Truth. My front gate remote and garage door remotes use odd sized batteries. Only The Shack carries them. :D

Radio Shack is also the only game in town in many small towns.

This is fine, but with a new iPhone to be expected just months away, who wants to buy an iPhone now? Those that want one probably already got one.

Only people like us know that a new iPhone will be released soon, it's not like any tangible evidence about the next iPhone reached mainstream media!

Oh wait...

A bit of a switch and bait, but everybody is use to these contracts. Two years is such a long time in this day and age.

Bought my first computer from Radio Shack [Tandy], cost me $1,000's
