I was getting along pretty well with the 2X512Mb RAM modules in my MacBook C2D. Recently I also bought a refurbished iMac C2D that came with a 1X1Gb module. I upgraded the iMac to 4Gb (Crucial). I took the 1Gb iMac Hynix module and put it in the MacBook giving me 1.5Gb. It worked fine. I then picked up another 1Gb Hynix module off eBay and put it in my MacBook for 2Gb total. Works fine. I also upgraded the original 80Gb HD to 160Gb. Putting the old 80Gb HD in an external USB case made data migration pretty easy.

I just want to point out Dual Channel is overrated; and 2GB is all you need unless you run Aperture with a zillion RAW files, you have Photoshop with 5000 layers, or you are working with 1080p RAW video.

Otherwise 2GB is enough.

Thanx lol.
That's OK

Are you sure as I'm about to buy 4GB if 2GB is better then that is what I shall buy.

What if I run Dreamweaver a lot, Would the 4GB be needed then (I will start using it a lot with the new site I'm making) I also game in Windows via Boot Camp (Not very often mind, Once a month or less) but Vista can't pick up on 4GB unless it is 64Bit correct?

Don't listen to him! Get as much as you can! 4gb all the way. Honestly, why someone would recommend not upgrading is beyond me. If you're going to upgrade, go for the full thing. The more RAM the better.
