Upgraded 4 Macs to 10.9 - 1 iMac, 1 mini server, and two MBP, mix of HDD and SDD.

All exhibited a lot of beachballing initially. So much so that I was very much considering backing down to 10.8.

Over a few days, the beach balls lessened, and now I rarely see one.

I also had the problem this week, but I found out that my SSD was the cause. I replaced the SSD and since then, I didn't have any problems at all.

I even had the beach ball during the installation process over and over again. It was pretty at random moments during the installation.

Pina,

Man, if it is the SSD.....you're absolutely sure? My MBA is a Mid 2012 I've never had a problem with the SSD. The machine is seven months old. I don't do any gaming, nor any graphics work. I just use it for surfing the web, email that kind of thing. My machine was not one of those that had questionable SSD's which I believe was an issue some time ago now.

I've upgraded three machines; a Mid-2011 iMac 27" 2.7 GHz i5, Mid-2012 rMBP and a 2012 Mac Mini Server.

I've seen this problem on exactly none of them. Not sure why I'm so lucky.
