I actually had to convince my fiance to see this (she's 31). She thought the plot looked a little to "simple" for her. Now It turns out to be one of her favorite movies! I really like the little lessons and the short film in the beginning.:)

I also like it, Pixar mostly make good movies apart from chicken little that movie was terrible.
Don't let Disney fool you, that wasn't Pixar. Disney fired its entire 3D team after Dinosaur, even though they were fantastic. They started building back up, and thought they'd be a raving success, but ended up getting off to a bad start with "Valor"... which was so awful NO ONE remembers it. On a slightly different note, I remember when people thought Disney create Anastasia because that movie was so well received. Always bugged me.

"Ratatouille" was AWESOME. The ending was brilliant, and just like "Finding Nemo"... dust somehow made its way into the theatre (I still don't know where its coming from). :D In fact, on Sunday, I was re-watching the video podcasts (which are excellent) on my iPhone, which was sitting in landscape mode propped up by my Speck case's flip clip. I also bought the full sound track from iTunes (which strangely was only a partial album for a short time until the movie was released). I think it also comes with a movie clip for download.

BONUS: The Pixar short "Lifted" was great too. I noticed its already on iTunes. Worth checking out.

I like "Ratatouille" a lot, but not as much as "The Incredibles." The animation is marvelous. The movement and fur of the rats is really groundbreaking. The scene where Remy rides the sewer rapids is the best CGI water effects I've ever seen. All the voice work is great, especially O'Toole as the food critic.

A couple things I didn't like: the old lady's extended scene shooting a shotgun was ridiculously long, surprisingly so for a kids' movie. And maybe it was because of the realism of the rats, but to me it never completely overcame the ickiness of a rat in a kitchen. The ending especially made me want to do what the kitchen staff did. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I enjoyed it with my family - thought it was much better than Cars was - top 3? Don't think it breaks it:
Incredibles
Monsters, Inc.

That would be a fun post - rate the Pixar movies...:)

OT: I tried posting using an iPhone in the Apple Store but after I finished typing my message and clicking submit I was given the login screen again :( can't believe I was logged out.

Well on to the movie.

I liked it a lot. Possibly right up there with Monster House (which is my all time favorite for now). Loved that it did not have any pop music sing-a-longs or pop culture references (unlike Shrek 3 *gag*).

My father and I took my stepmothers grand kids along. Unfortunately the 4yr old younger brother got very impatient and restless after the first hour.

ooh, I'm worried about these restless 4 y/o that a few of you have mentioned. I'm taking my kids, 3 & 6, this weekend. If the 3 y/o gets bored...

Funny, around here I only know adults who have seen the film, no kids yet. Yeah, the appeal seems very broad.

Great movie. Funny in many parts and cute. My favorite part is when the critic ate the ratatouille and the taste zipped him back to his childhhood. Heartwarming. Although I could here Transformers booming in the next theater.

FWIW My 6 yo watched the whole thing, but my 4 y.o. needed a 5 min concession stand break ~ 90 minutes in.

I think this my nephew is special ;)

He'll want to watch Star Wars/Spider Man/etc but after 10min he will move on to something else. My father and I have tried to get him to play with toys on his own but it usually fails after a few minutes. He is a non-stop chatter box in the car. He does very well when his dad is around of course.

I also play with him a lot but also want him to be a little independent, to create and use his imagination. My god this kid already knows all the fast food chains and such logos as Nike.
