Hooray for girl geeks! At last, forum-goers will not be stereotyped as lifeless, unemployed early-20s males...

(btw, I'm neither a young adult nor a female... the lifeless and unemployed part is open to debate, LOL)
 
How did this thread get so weird.:rolleyes: To be honest I am waiting for the new Macbooks as well..considering the fact I finally paid off my first gen after two years.

I still think my first gen Macbook kicks butt!! For what I will get as a trade in for my book I would be spending alot more then it would cost for a new widescreen which I think would be the better choice right now.

The only way I may consider the new books if they blow me out of the water.
I still think the Airs are terrible and I really hope the new Macbooks will not head in that direction considering of what the rumored costs mite be.

I guess we will see.
 
I completely feel for the OP! My old Win laptop was dying and I knew I wanted a Mac laptop next but I just really don't like that white plastic case and boxiness of the MB... My husband has one and I just don't care for it...

Now if I have heard no rumors that a newer, possibly curvier, possibly aluminum, updated MacBook is coming out, I deal with the form factor because I have no choice... On the other hand if I hear (or read) rumors that the MacBook is imminently going to be more like what I am looking for, I get real anxious for the update! I went with option 3 in the end tho, got an Air instead... I would have been happy with what the new MacBooks are rumored to be like since I don't really need the thin form-factor and high price tag and I kinda miss an internal optical drive and having a NIC and more USB ports but I really wanted something sooner than later... I envy that you can wait it out and see what they come out with :)

Yeah I'm beginning to read posts by seemingly older members, and "experts" with attitude... I mean 4 seconds? 4 seconds of your life WASTED responding to someone to merely point out they have ruined your day entirely by posting an extra *gasp* rumour thread re: updates? God forbid! I get people are over reading the same thing... but it's the thread of the moment so just CALM DOWN and let people post! If 4 seconds of your life is truly up the crapper, then don't bother posting! Someone will be sure to point out the same thing you just did anyway...

Ya see? This is is axactly the stuff I stumble upon (as a non apple macbook owner, and owner of a dodgey shuffle only) and think 'right! stuff that... I'm gonna get the white macbook but 250HDD.' I don't need 'manufacturing kinks' or anything of the like and after the mac pro issues? hell noh... white macbook it is!

It's awesome, it does all I need to do and can even play all of my games (GH3, COD4, etc).

What's worse is that there wasn't any confirmation of new MacBooks, let alone what features they may have.

hey the macbook plays COD4, but how I thought the video card isn't enough for that game, I own the current blackbook!
