I have always used an electric but it gives me pretty poor results. I'm contemplating switching to a regular razor, though I dislike the amount of time I spend shaving with the electric so it may make better sense just to get a better electric. :)

Just disposable 2-blade razors for me. Lasts about a month, and I can get a package of 30 of those for about $10. Yes, that's $10 every 2 1/2 years.

Tried electrics in my younger years but i ended up getting lazy and didn't clean it. I can't get a close enough shave with them.

I just use a disposable twin blade razor - one with a lubricating strip. I use it Mon --> fri and then chuck it out. don't shave on the weekends to give the face a rest.

I have tried those mach 3 gizmo's - they are way too sharp. they cut your face to bits with the slightest sideways movement. Not recommended for ppl who are in a rush in the morning for work like me.

You have to be careful with those things. Shaving is a minimum 5 min job with one of those Mach / quattro cutters. 1.5 mins with the twin blade. :D:D

just got one of these a few weeks ago... i love it only thing i don't like is the travel case... its a freakin brick its like solid steel.

Add me to the regular list. I've never even bothered with an electric on the basis that everyone I know who's used one hasn't liked it. I use a Gillette Fusion with the vibrate feature and love it. Before that it was always Mach3s. I really like the vibration feature and if I try to shave without it, it just feels really wrong.

Mach 3 for me. Electric tore my skin up. I even had the electric that had the nevia (sp?) cream with it to help with irritation, but nothing worked. It now sits under my drawer and collects dust.

Can you all go against the grain or with the grain, when you shave? I go with because if I go against then I get in-grown hairs like no other.

I hate shaving.

Razor for a full shave but the ol' electric is great for a quick fix! Especially around the chin, I hate using a razor around the chin area it just plucks out the hair.

My skin can't handle shaving with a blade every day, although I prefer the closeness I get from it. I usually don't shave on the weekends, then with a blade Sunday night. Then it's electric during the week.

One thing I've noticed is that with electric you really can't skip a day. If the hairs get too long to go through the mesh, then you're going over the same spot over and over trying to get a few hairs. I also use a pre-shave balm to lubricate my face. Shaving electric completely dry can be rough.

One of my favorite quotes:

"The only thing I hate more than shaving is facial hair."

I use a Gilette Sensor.
