PLEASE READ before posting a new thread about the iPhone 5.

1. We DO NOT KNOW when it's going to come out. We have guesses, but we don't know for sure, so don't put 100% faith into our speculations. Our guess is early-to-mid September, alongside iOS 5.
2. We DO NOT KNOW what it looks like. At all. All the photos you see are mockups unless it's from a trusted tech blog, like Ars Technica.
3. We DO NOT KNOW if it's going to support 4G LTE.
4. We DO NOT KNOW if it's going to be unlocked.
5. We DO NOT KNOW if it has a bigger/OLED/AMOLED/etc. screen.
6. We DO NOT KNOW if it's going to have a 8MP/1080p shooter or not.
7. We DO NOT KNOW if the antenna issue will remain.
8. We DO NOT KNOW if it will have a removable battery. Probably not, though.
9. We DO NOT KNOW if it can be jailbroken, since the A5 SoC has not been pwnt yet.
10. We DO NOT KNOW any of the detailed specifications, like processor speed/cores, RAM capacity, etc.
11. We DO NOT KNOW if a 64GiB version will be released.
12. We DO NOT KNOW if any other carrier other than AT&T and Verizon will have it. Sprint is very unlikely to carry the iPhone, because they endorse Google.
13. We DO NOT KNOW anything about future voice/data plans for it, but Verizon will have a tiered plan as the leaks suggest.
14. We DO NOT KNOW if an iPhone Nano exists.
15. We DO NOT KNOW if it will be a world mode phone, or whether it will support both GSM and CDMA or not.
16. We DO NOT KNOW exactly how much it's going to cost. Apple could make them cheaper, or stick with the same pricing model.
17. We don't really know if it will ship with iOS 5. It probably will, though.

What we DO KNOW is that it will have an Apple logo on it.

This also applies for future iPhone models. Unless a prototype leak like Gizmodo happens, we will not know anything about upcoming iPhones.

If you truly want this thread to disappear because it's pointless, use your head, stop saying it's pointless and unknowingly bump this thread. This will make more people read it and make this thread meaningful.

If you want people to see it until the release of iPhone 5, then bump it.

I try to do something good and all I get is bad rep. Nice one guys.

you must be leaving something out that we don't know ... like how much will the iPhone 5 cost?
 
Actually, I'd say September release date is at 90% certainty too based on my sources. Bear in mind these same sources nailed both the CDMA release and white iPhone on VZE dates and, though not posted here, OTA updates in 5. I'm also fairly confident of a single platform for both major US carriers. However, I'd put my faith in LTE at only 50%.

10. 768mb/1GB of ram. A5 dual core. 8mp camera are likely.

People still call the iPhone 4 as iPhone 4G, when it's not 4G. Same with iPhone 5, it won't be a 5G phone so Apple will call it iPhone 5.

Not really. There's many rumors about whether or not it will have LTE, considering the China deal and such. Same with the camera, no one knows whether or not Apple will stick with OmniVision or Sony.
Also, the jailbreakability will be determined by the processor, not the OS version. A5 has not been cracked yet, though it's pretty close.
There's even less evidence of a 64GB model, since Apple abandoned the 64GB iPhone 4. The cost is too high, even for Apple.
iPad 2's large SoC has 512MB of RAM. We don't know if Apple can cram more RAM in or not. We don't even know if an A5 will fit inside an iPhone 5. Therefore we don't even know if an A5 will be inside an iPhone 5.
There's indications that a T-Mobile iPhone could be released, but pointlessly.

This thread is not to stop speculation, but to stop questions and unnecessary threads about preexisting speculations. Like those stupid questions you speak of.

It would have been simpler if you said "We do not know anything about the next gen iPhone and everything you heard about it is unconfirmed"
 
We know nothing about the iPhone 5, but what about the iPhone 6??

That should be a doozy and I hear it will be released next January! :eek:

Not everything. The iPhone 5 with iOS 5 is practically confirmed.

Too bad this doesn't solve the issue of all the inane threads that have been and will be posted.
 
1. Make a 'iPhone 5 Speculation' thread.
2. Problem solved; any new threads will have their posts merged onto the preexisting thread.

Keep in mind this is a website dedicated to rumors and speculation.

Nothing except the fact that it will have 2 cameras, support 3G on CDMA and GSM, have a retina display, speakers, home button and a touchscreen, and that it will have iOS 5. Those are solid facts.
