Readdle today updated its popular PDF Expert app for the Mac to version 2.2, overhauling the app and adding new features to make editing and annotating PDFs even easier than before.

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if PDF Expert is also for managing and storing one's PDF docs? I've been using iBooks but it is so basic and each time Mac updates it, I worry that I'll lose all the PDFs I've purchased and want to keep. I've searched on google, etc, for an app for storing and/or managine pdfs but I only see to find info that sounds like it will edit pdfs. I want something that will let me rename them, and manage storage of pdfs, in folders, groups etc. I've looked at the PDF Expert App info but it isn't really clear. Thanks for any help you can give me.

No, it's for reading, annotating and editing individual PDF files. Sounds like you are looking for a document management app such as DevonThink or Mariner Paperless. Personally I just use a folder structure to organize my documents.

People have forgot how good the Finder on the Mac is. I've seen some note taking in PDF Expert.

PDF Expert is my #3 used app on the iPad, after Safari and Mail. On the Mac I switch between it and Preview depending on my task. I use EagleFiler for general document management. For academic PDF organization, I have recently caved to just using Zotero standalone to maintain the attachments--not as convenient as having direct access to the files through EagleFiler or just the Finder but much more expedient when collaborating with other Zotero users on multi-author projects.
